Good morning. It's funny that 2 days ago some fans were getting really down that we weren't smashing this transfer window, now after today's confirmation, I think we are one signing, Matic or Fabinho or essentially a decent CM from having a team that will push on all fronts. De Gea, Lindeolf, Bailly, a new CM, Pogba and Lukaku is a strong spine to build on. If story's about Shaw are true that he is impressing then he will also be like a new signing and perhaps the fact we have not really been linked to strongly with a LB may suggest Jose is happy to go with what we have. Fair play to Woodward, he resisted Madrid's pursuit of De Gea, he's walked way from Morata and maybe Real will now think they can't push us about.

Personally, I think we may still go after Morata as well, depends on whether Madrid are serious about Mpabbe. Either way, in the space of two days, I think spirits have been lifted immensely and the season could be very exciting for us.

{Ed004's Note - I think it's a bit harsh to leave Herrera out of that list of players forming the spine of the team tbh but you're right about it getting a lot stronger. We are a cdm away from having a very poweful, technical and quick spine. If Shaw can get himself sorted and we push on for a right back I reckon we would have possibly the best 11 in the premiership.}

Yeah you're right about Herrera. To be honest, in my opinion, he is the most important player in that team as the job he does allows the others to do their's and he gives the defence that extra protection. Apologise for leaving him out.

{Ed004's Note - I'm very happy with Jose signings to date let's hope the new signings are just as good. Hopefully Mkhitaryan and Martial can kick on in the wider positions}

I don't think we need a world-beating cm, rather someone to quietly do his job and let our current two world-beating cm's do their thing. In that sense Mario would be perfect. If we can nab Fabinho as well then that would be the icing on the cake as he is a top fullback too.

Sick of reading about matic and morata you would have to wonder how we will cope without them.

If we hadn't been linked to them in the papers no one would really want them.

brozovic, matuidi would be decent options to matic, fabinho imo. Definately think we need a player who can cross a ball/ take a decent corner and also a freekick.

I like matic a lot jred if it's any use to you.

I always thought he is a cracking CM, just never believe that he would an achieveable target.

You may be sick of hearing about Matic, but he's available and ticks a box we need ticking. There are obviously other options as well, but we could do a helluva lot worse imo.
