Why don't managers check out this page for information before blindly going for players. Mourinho and Conte could have learnt something about Lukaku from the experts on here and got tips on better players. Personally i don't know who would turn out better for us, nobody does but i would not pretend to know more than the experts, and i will have faith in Mourinho and give full support to the new signings, whoever they are and not criticize them before they kick a ball for us. Certain posters need to learn that their opinion is not fact.

Do you mean experts like the ones that signed Schneiderlin, Depay, Schweinsteiger, Shaw and gave Rooney a brand new contract?

Or Jose in particular - Shaun Wright Phillips, Jarosik, Falcao, Rahman, Del Horno, Boularouz, Cuadrado, Shevchenko - some shockers on there and that is by no means all of them.

Or the experts that hired Moyes and LVG?

How long does the average premier league manager keep their job?

I'll tel you it's roughly 1.8 years on average, (good old Arsene keeps that figure artificially higher than it deserves to be) . Is it this low because they are so expert they all willfully quit and retire on their fortunes, or could it be that they underachieve and don't fulfill what they agreed to fulfill when signing their contracts? hmm.

Nobody is always right, but dismissing other peoples opinions because they choose not to dedicate their lives to a particular profession is shortsighted.

Have you never questioned a substitution or a way we set-up against a certain team because the all knowing Jose is always correct? Putting 100% faith in so called experts is why the world is a mess, let alone the state football is in and direction it's heading. People should always question decisions, especially when there is a track record of big errors.

Beast, you are correct that some players bought by managers prove to be flops but that can't be predicted. Many top class players have failed to live up to yheir reputation at different clubs. You don't know anymore than anyone else whether player A. will do better than player B. but you write as if it is a fact that another player would do better. Like i said opinion isn't fact. Of course that is just my opinion.

Inhope - I do not write as if it is a fact, I give my opinion. It is not a fact that the so called experts always know better than us so called non-experts.

Beast there is a huge difference between questioning club's some decisions and always complaining about everything the club, the manager, the board do.

CSM - but then why post? If somebody says something positive that I agree fully with, I click the "agree" button, or say "good post etc". If somebody says something I disagree with then I'll put my two penneth in rather than just being a silent disagree clicker. If I agree and feel I could add value then I contribute further to the thread.

I just happen to disagree with some of the decisions being taken in recent years and some of the current exaggerated positivism about signings (in my opinion) . On the whole performances, signings, league position, management decisions have all been odd/ poor at times in the recent past and deserve scrutiny. This is a supporters site so anything negative about the team/ club/ players is going to meet with problems of course.

I appreciate Maze (Jaimej on live chat) and myself seem to be the pantomime villains on here more often than not, but sweeping statements like "Always complaining about everything the club, the manager, the board do" is a big stretch. I complain a lot, but not all the time and often I am proven correct in the long run with my complaints.

The same people that relish slagging off my negativity never seem to be quick to say "Beast was right and we gave him some jip unnecessarily", they just wait to jump on the next unpopular thing I say, not always but for the most part. There are a few posters that seem to welcome different views even if it means being critical and obviously everyone has their limits for when something goes from debate - full blown argument and I imagine that's why the Ed's vet the posts. I try to tread that line as this site is a good way to share views and opinions, despite a lot of people being very quick to jump on my current negative outlook. Lost count how many times people say I am talking nonsense (or a lot worse), can't remember ever being that blatant to anybody, despite a lot of provocation - everyone's entitled to their opinion, especially if they are informed about the subjects they are talking about.

To be fair mate, you are right, and you do get some unnecessary stick.
Equally though, when you say 'exaggerated positivism' over signings, last year we signed the best player from serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, plus an unknown centre back who has turned out to be a revelation. This summer we've signed a ball-playing CB who is very highly regarded and everyone is happy to see through the door, and by the looks of things the second best goal scorer in English football. Things ain't so bad bud!
