I don't understand the thinking behind some posters being disappointed at the signing of Lukaku. He's an excellent finisher with both feet. Has speed in abundance and suits the PL.
If you need any evidence that we've made the right signing, then I suggest you read the supposed Liverpool legends comments :
Steve Nicol : Morata more talented than lukaku and United signed the wrong man
Fowler : I'm baffled by this signing. Umm? What is there to be baffled about, get back to snorting, idiot.
And all the biased journalists saying we've bought the wrong man. Whatever?
So all we have to do now is sign Morata as well and that should shut them up nicely.

His stats are mightily impressive and they have been achieved playing for WBA and Everton.

Schmid in all honesty mate the fee is crazy for Lukaku but it makes more sense than shelling out the same money for Morata who is untested in the PL. That type of fee in my view should be reserved for a Bale or Neymar etc but I guess that is football these days.

In terms of his ability Lukaku's touch scares the Mary out of me but a kid with that bulk and build is never going to have the technique of Berbatov. He will score goals that is for sure but how many will depend on how Jose decides to play.

Since Lukaku's impending arrival I have been watching past clips of him because I didn't see him week in week out and I know clips can be very biased but for such a big lad I find it baffling how poor he seems to be in the air.

We signed the best available EPL striker, but people are disappointed because they've seen him play full games and can't hype him on the basis of a YouTube highlights clip. Morata is a good player too, better at link up but not as good a finisher. But he is completely untested in the EPL, and we went for the proven option.

I have never been lukaku biggest fan tbh but there is no doubting the quality the lad has he has scored a lot of premier league goals at middling clubs.
I think he will get tons for us.

I agree with Schmid, Roger, Danny, and Maze.

Keep that to yourself AJH. Don't want to be seen agreeing with Maze.

The money is sickening, but it is what it is. Flick through any tabloid today, or the BBC . just a selection :

Everton want 25 mill for James McCarthy - leicester interested

Siggudson to Everton. not less than 30 mill

Man city reserve, Kilechi (? ) 25 mill to leicester

Schmeical 50 mill if uTD want him -

I know it depends on lengths of contracts etc etc but who is the biggest rip off? Lukaku at 75 mill or McCarthy at 25 all subjective . let us not forget a kid with a decent season behind him at Monaco won't leave for less than 120 mill.

I think lukaku will do better for united than he did for Everton our game should suit him more imo.

I have never been in love by him but i think he is a major improvement to Zlatan. He is much faster and will make us more mobile upfront. I think he needs to improve his off the ball movement to be a complete striker.

He has all the physical attributes of a top striker and in my opinion has not peaked and probably 2 years away. I would not be surprised if he scores 30 goals for us. This is Jose's second season with a proper pre-season and a healthy squad and i expect to see a massive improvement by our existing players the which includes the of Martial, Dash, Mick. We are in CL put 2 more trophies in the cabinet last year and all in all the club is in a greta place compared to 2 years ago and a lot to be optimistic about.

I believe we will score goals for fun this year.
