Very happy to see the likes of Andreas Pereira, McTominay, Fosu, Tuanzebe and Demetri Mitchell joining the tour.
Harrop would have also travelled had he not left.
I know the pressure wasn't there when we played the last few games, but maybe just maybe Mitchell gets 10-15 games this season.
He does remind me of Evra with how he gets forward and Jose is a man who can teach anyone to defend.
McTominay seemed like a safe passer kind of a guy who kept it ticking.
The world expects us to sign 5-6 player every window, but maybe 4 would be enough?
With Lukaku, and Lindelof signed, I'd be happy if we sign a midfielder and a winger who plays on the touchline.
Perisic/ Sanchez and Fabinho/ Matuidi would be very decent business.
As in the last few games, I see Jose might try to shift Tuanzebe as a holding midfielder given he's very comfortable on the ball.
Would be great if we let 1-2 of young, darmian, smalling, jones, blind, Shaw leave as the defense looks very bloated.

{Ed004's Note - I agree that's it is great to see the young players heading on tour. Personally I'd be happy with Shaw and Mitchell competing for the left back position. I'd have 4 players for the centre back position ideally with Bailly + Smalling for right side and Lindelof + Rojo for the left side and Tuanzebe as cover. Lastly Valencia + new signing for right back role (hopefully Semedo). It would leave a few players surplus though such as Darmian, Jones and Blind}

Just curious - why name injured players such as Shaw, Rojo and Young on the tour squad when they're sure not to play? Would have helped to bring more young players on the tour for experience and motivation.
The tour squad again for reference - Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Matteo Darmian, David de Gea, Marouane Fellaini, Tim Fosu-Mensah, Ander Herrera, Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Scott McTominay, Demetri Mitchell, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Andreas Pereira, Joel Pereira, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Axel Tuanzebe, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young.

Would've liked to have seen Angel Gomes.

Young and Rojo might be returning to fitness. I'm not sure how long Rojo is out injured for.

Dobeg,

Gomes is a long way away and was only used in that palace game to break the record. Bit of a passing of the torch thing taking Rooney off and bringing on Gomes. He's quality but let's not push him to the moon just yet.

A couple if those guys could well push their way into permanent squad players. i'm sure tuanzabe would not be gutted to see a couple of smalling jones rojo or blind leave.
I don't think shaw will be fit until end of Aug so could mitchell impress enough to get a squad spot early in the season.
For me there are some players that need to have a big pre season and to show they want to play for manchester united and they are going to do whatever jose wants them to do and how he wants them to do it. Obviously the new signings fall into this category but also miki mata martial and jessie. From the outside looking in they are the players that he seems to be questioning more than the likes of herrera pogba rash even fellaini. The 4 mentioned above didn't all have a consistently high standard season. They shoeed a few flashes and had some decent runs but all were average or slightly above. Pereira and hopfully perisic will join that group so perhaps one of them will depart. Jessie just signed a new contract so maybe one of the other 3 will be given the push.
