Why can't Utd take Sanchez on loan for 2 years for £7m with an option to buy like AC Milan are possibly doing? Do we always have to pay top dollar. This is exactly the sort of clever deal we need to be doing.

That's what we did with falcao, not sure, about a loan if we need a player we buy them.

Because that deal isn't on the table. There's only 1 year left on Sanchez's contract. Arsenal doesn't want him to leave but, if he does, they will want to maximize the money they get. £7m won't do that. Sanchez's agent will want to maximize his payday too, which means a longer more lucrative contract befitting a player of his stature. Loans only work when the player is under contract but is unlikely to play for the first team or needs experience, or if signing him on loan represents a big risk as far as fitness is concerned, like it did with Falcao.

I think he means Renato Sanches, shawthing. He's off to AC Milan on loan (with view to buy) .

Sorry yes I meant Renato Sanchez. Falcao was not up to the mark for the Premier league and a lot was due to his age and injuries. Sanchez is young and fit. Frankly £7m for a loan payment with option to buy is a lot more sensible than paying eg £40milliom plus for a player like Sigurdson from Swansea which is what Everton are likely to pay. In today's market I would rather risk losing £7million with the upside potential worth so much more. If Sanchez is a hit then people will turn round and say why didn't we take a chance on him and they would be right. He has the potential to be really really good and I think we should be going all out to get young players like him. Jose can mould him.

Lad at work is a Bayern fan. Said Sanches was absolutely awful. Poor touch, can't pass etc. Extremely overrated.
