Financially on paper we are the richest club in the world yet sometimes i feel baffled as i'm sure most of us do by transfers. I know we get our pants pulled down 90% of the time but when we have received an offer for a player who is only a bit part player? We seem to let them go for buttons to lower financially stable teams. i'm not complaining about it as i feel happy that our great club can help out these teams and not squeeze as much as possible out of them.

Long story short and reason for this post is down to Chelsea. I mean they are no where near short of cash yet they seem to sell most of their players who hardly ever get first team football at high prices.

Asmir Begovic was bought from Stoke in 2015 for £8 million and he barely played for CFC, The board receive and offer and they sell him to Bournemouth for £10 million. If the transfer was BFC to CFC then CFC would not pay £10 million for him! I know its good business for CFC but i can sleep well knowing that the MUFC board would sooner help out the likes of Bournemouth reg Transfer Fees and not rob them.

Have i got this topic totally wrong or do you agree with me

Depends how you look at it,
£24m for Morgan,
£16m for a poor Depay,
£44m for an out of sorts ADM,
£16m for Welbeck,
£4.4m for Buttner who rarely played,
£8m for Evans who was second choice,
£4.5m for McNair, blimey,
£6m for Zaha who never played,
so not bad fees for players who didn't rarely play a game or was deemed surplus.
If we sold some of those in this last couple of summer windows we'd have gotten more the way it's gone aswell.

We just sold Chalobah to Watford for a measly 5 million. He could very well be going to the World Cup next summer as Southgate rates him very highly. So yeah, if that's not helping out Watford then I don't know what is :-P
We sold Traore for 8 million, which is nothing for a guy with his talent! Mostly I think we sell at fair prices. PL teams don't need to be helped out financially, all of them have loads of money.

Agreed Jackson.
Also, clubs are not in the business of helping other clubs out. Football is big business and every club is looking to maximize their profits. That's normal business practice.
I think in Woodward, we have a poor negotiator who is genuinely not suited for the job. He is excellent at securing sponsorship deals, there again, I could do that job as most would be sponsors are jumping at the chance to be associated with the United name.
If you look at Bayern for example, you see a clearer transfer policy. Dare I say, even Chelsea and City are better at it than us. I think the club is crying out for a clever negotiator to move it forwards. Let Woodward get sponsorship deals and get someone who is actually good enough to do the job in the transfer market.

What are you talking about. MU is a business. It does not sell players to other PL clubs at what is perceived to be a lesser price to "do them a favour".

WRD

We lost a fair few million on those players between buying high and selling cheaper.

Jackson mutual understanding and Wazza I KNOW MUFC need to start getting more out of these squad players.

Promote the youth and send them on loan to lower PL clubs get real game time under their belt.

Then we can see who is made for us and who needs the door.
