Just a thought after what I have seen of the preseason games. Are we not in more need of a lb than winger? Blind has been poor, Darmian is solid defensively but offers little going forward and Shaw is Shaw! wouldn't have need for a Perisic type if we had a good attacking lb like Alaba, Rose, Bertrand even.
Also been impressed by Perreira in midfield. Carrick can do a job still in big games when needed and have plenty options with Pogba, Herrera, Fellaini and McTominay able to rotate to fill either of what looks likely to be a 2 in midfield.
I would rather see us spend on Fullbacks rather than a CM or LW unless somebody special became available.

Do we know what Jose thinks of Demitri Mitchell?

Shaw looked excellent in the season until his injury, if he has sorted his lifestyle out and gets fit he could be some left back. I think he should be given one last chance before spending more, certainly not spending big on the position just yet.

Exactly my thoughts. Unless a genuine game changing attacker or midfielder, ala Sanchez, Veratti etc, then we should be focusing on improving our full backs 100%. Definitively our weakness.

City bought all the fullback this year. Pep's master plan is not to allow any other teams to play full backs. Sneaky.
