Its pretty well known that we are after a cdm and a winger. With ed002 saying that kroos and bale may be available, would you take those two but in the deal, De Gea goes to madrid?

I think we should hold onto De Gea for as long as we possibly can. Best keeper in the world, been at the club for 6 years and is slowly going down in our club history.

He's the type of player you'll tell your kids about in 10/ 15 years from now.

I know weggy, my favourite player at the club, definitely "world class"
Was asking because things are a little slow at the moment, i would hate to see him leave.

We know only too well the difficulty a team can experience when it doesn't have a keeper of Dave's callibre. He's solving a bigger problem we don't want. Must stay.

I like DDG and want to keep him but he doesn't inspire me the way Schmeichel did. Perhaps I'm just older, perhaps the team is better, perhaps times have changed, but Big Pete was incredible, DDG is great but I just don't see him in the same category yet.

Unfortunately AJH I didn't get to experience watch Peter play live. It sounds like he was a proper leader during his years here!

I believe we would be in a very bad place right now if De Gea wasn't around during that poor period post fergie. it's not every day you have a keeper who wins you games with the saves he makes every game.

AJH,

I know what you mean, Schmeichel had a presence that only van der sar has got anywhere close to in a United keeper shirt for me but still not at that level.

De Gea is a totally different prospect, he doesn't have that presence yet but his shot stopping ability is probably the best I've ever seen and we would be a much worse team without him there. He has improved a lot of the weaker areas of his game. Also got to remember Schmeichel signed for us at 28, De Gea is still only 26.

Massive fan of ddg but know where any is coming from.

Yes, it's probably DDG is quieter and Schmeichel was a huge character. You don't win player of the year 2 (3?) times without being a great keeper. I also think the! Madrid rumours are a drag as well, I think his heart yearns for a return to Spain,

Attack is the best form of defence, two world class outfield players that would get into any team over a goalkeeper any day even though I think he's currently the best in the world between the sticks. You can still be massively successful without the best goalkeeper when you have Tony Kroos in midfield and the other team is chasing shadows while he runs the game with a cigar in his mouth.

Absolutely. I'll sell DDG if we had a chance if buying Kroos and Bale/ Isco in the deal. Ddg is an amazing keeper bit Romero is more than capable and has never let us down.
The influx of two world class outfield players will have an amazing influence on our team.

I can see logic in the argument and would be tempted. I think the difference those 2 (if Bale stayed fit) would make vs the drop off in class from DDG to Romero would be worth it.
We already saw that Jose had faith in Romero.
