Eds, can I ask if there is any update regarding our players with a year left on their contracts?

As far as I remember we have Mata, Shaw, Herrera, Blind, Young and Fellaini with only a year left. There are probably others I've missed. Out of those probably only Herrera is on the majority of people's team sheet every week but Shaw could yet nail down the lb spot if he works hard, Mata is a great player to have, Blind is a good squad player and Fellaini is a Jose favourite.

Discussions with Herrera are ongoing. I haven't heard anything about the others.

We could do with all of the players you mentioned being tied down apart from Young who will most likely leave on a free next Summer if not before.

While Fellaini is arguably surplus we only recently splashed out on him so surely it makes business sense to get another year added to try to recoup a bit of a fee. The same could apply to Shaw of course depending on whetheror not he steps up. This season is surely his last chance.

Shaw, Young and Blind have extra year options on their contract. Mata will be 30 this season so might be offered one year contracts from now. Pereria's contract is also up this season.

I just hope we don't mess around with Anders contract!
