I've a question for Ed 02 if he's around.
I've seen a lot (as you said) that united are after Aurier. I good player IMO but I don't understand why we're looking at Rightbacks. Are we looking at any left backs or is Luke Shaw still seen as an option once he's fit again? Thanks as always.

{Ed004's Note - This question has been answered previously. To the best of my knowledge Manutd are looking at an attacking player who can play across any of the front 3 positions and a right back. Most likely signings are Aurier and Perisic (although I would prefer it if we looked at Bale or waited until January for Griezmann)}

This calls for a poll, Bale or Griezmann?

{Ed033's Note -

Bale or Griezmann

That's an easy one. Griezmann all day long. Bale too many injuries, older, relies on pace which will hinder him as he passes his peak. Injured again today apparently. No thanks.

{Ed004's Note - Its a tough one. Bale is probably the better player when on form and firing but injuries have prevented that from happening. Both would be utilised best centrally although Bale can play wide right. Imagine the chaos Bale could create playing off Lukaku. Both would be expected to score 20+ goals each and with Mkhitaryan and Martial wide they would chip in with goals as well}

I agree ed, those 10 games a season while he was fit would be immense, I'd still pick Griezmann though as we'd get more for the money and he'd have a bigger impact over the whole season for me.

{Ed004's Note - But Griezmann isn't available this summer and it would likely be a season before we could sign him}

I'd rather wait if it is likely we will get him next summer. For the money involved I'm still not sure I'd blow it on a player who has struggled so much in the recent past with injuries. Huge gamble for me. I'd be tempted to pay half and get Perisic instead. Tough one.

Just want to confirm, does the transfer ban prevent them from buying players or just registering new ones?
Also, if we do move for griezmann could we buy him now with the understanding he would arrive for preseasoning next year?

{Ed004's Note - They can sign players but not register them. If we bought Griezmann it would not be possible for Atletico to register him}

Overall its Griezmann, but we know Bale can handle the physicality of the PL. Griezmann would need to prove he could adjust to the PL from La Liga.

Better idea here: Get bale in this transfer window if it is possible, then sign griezman next summer. We are Manchester United we can afford both over 2 seasons and these are the kind of superstar players we should aim for when available.

Greizmann all day long and twice on Sunday. Bale at his peak is a better player than Greizmann has yet to reach. But I don't think Bale will ever truly get back to his peak. Maybe the odd be here and there. But his body won't allow him to maintain that level unfortunately. Where as Greizmann could get to that level, but even if he just stays at the level he currently is at he can maintain for a while season and for probably the next 4-5 seasons.

Perisic all day. Tough, team-worker, guaranteed crosses and assists. Much cheaper. Bale injury prone and Real Madrid reject now.

Purely based on ability when both at their best I'd say bale. Plus has the added advantage that he is premier league proven. Only thing that would push me towards griezmann would be age and injuries. Griezmann has more years left in him and doesn't come with the poor injury record of bale.
