It's embarrassing how Lindelof is already being written off. How many players have had a great pre season then go on and have a poor season. It's irrelevant. Pre season is about getting your fitness levels and sharpness upto scratch. New signings need time to gel and get to know their team mates, manager and his tactics.
Last night as the game went on, Lindelof grew into the game. There were some very neat interceptions. No rash tackling. Expectations and reality are two different things. Instead of having a pop at him, get behind him.
Smalling for me played as though he had just arrived at the club. His positional sense is very poor. He looks at the ball and not who is around him.
So we weren't great yesterday but we should have scored 2. Rashford is clearly frustrated on the wing. He looked as happy as Martial. The game cried out for Martial to be brought butbinstead Mourinho allowed him to keep the bench warm.
I just hope we play two up front as I think we will be playing to our strengths and not our weaknesses. We need two quality singers as well. Martial plays on the wing but for me is better up top.

I am old enough to remember pallisters debut. Looked like a giraffe on ice skates and totally out of his depth. Didn't turn out to shabby in the end!
