Chelsea have lost two key players for next week against spurs away and then Cahill I think is also out against Everton week after. Love Rooney to score against them.

Luckily we've got Christensen and Rudiger who are both better than him.

Jackson,

I know you feel the need to defend your team but do you actually believe that?

Not a Chelsea fan but cahills red could be a blessing in disguise. They can bed in rudiger or christensen who are both much better than Cahill.

Cahill is overrated. He's been poor for the last couple of seasons. Still it's not a great position for Chelsea to be in.

GDS, I do honestly believe that. Cahill's a fine defender, and an exceptional one when he's required to throw his body in the way inside his own box. But he's not suited to the style we play, in which defenders have to be aggressive and proactive.
Rudiger is a German international with better quality on the ball and more aggressiveness in his play. He's a top quality defender. Christensen is an outstanding reader of the game already at his young age. He spent 2 years in Germany in which he broke out as one of the best young defenders in Europe, and one of the best defenders in Bundesliga (all ages) .
Both are fantastic players. And while in the beginning there might be some misunderstandings as they haven't played with Azpi and Luiz for long, it'd be best if Cahill isn't a nailed on starter anymore. He'd be best as a veteran rotation player.

Something doesn't seem quite right when n the Chelsea camp right now, Conte is a bit excitable and clearly not happy at the moment. It will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Well I think he's mainly unhappy at the lack of players available to him. For the Spurs game next weekend we'll have 13 outfield players available as things stand right now. And that's with Boga and Musonda included. Injuries to Bakayoko and Hazard are making us look worse than we really are in my opinion.
And of course we've got the bad luck of the scheduling that we have Spurs, Everton, Leicester, Arsenal and City all before the end of September. That's a rough start to the season when your best player is out injured and you've got a couple of newcomers in crucial positions (Morata and Bakayoko) . I imagine we could be out of the title race by the time October starts as I've noticed you guys have a pretty easy start to the season and honestly you guys are pretty loaded this season :-P

I'm just hoping we get top 4 and our young loanees in PL impress. RLC sure had a brilliant start yesterday :-)

Cahill went under the radar last season, he was better than Luiz but because he's English and doesn't have a silly hair cut he got no recognition for an excellent season. Here's to a bumpy start for the cockneys 🍺.

I am not sure chelsea is as light as people think. I thought Christensen, which I had not seen much of looked a really good player and many of the new players will take time to settle in and get regular playing roles and no hazard, which is a huge part of that team and key player in terms of causing lots of issues for the opposition.

I looked at the City's line up yesterday and they did not play many of their new guys either with the exception of Walker, who is PL player nothing new for him playing in this league and Danilo. The rest looked like as if they were last years team.

I think people are reading way too much into yesterdays Chelsea game and it was more like their players thought by just showing up they were entitled to 3 points and only started putting in a shift when they were behind and things goings against them.

It will not surprise me one bit if they go away to Spurs next week and beat them

The only team that does look very light from yesterdays games is Liverpool. Without counting they are quite predictable and still look terrible defensively. I think Klop will have a very hard year.

On paper we have a easier schedule but every away game and some home games in this league are a banana peal for the top teams and perfect for some fans to declare "We are finished" "Sack the Manager" "get rid of xyz player" :)

No one will go anywhere and it will be tight bunch at the top. The so called favorites will all have their poor runs of forms because of selection issues and bone head stuff a player or two do that puts them in a hole in a game they are suppose to win. You guys self destructed yesterday.

Boohoo you have a player injured for a few big games, you won the league last season because you were able to field a similar team all season like Leicester the season before, as soon as CL and a bigger squad is needed and injuries pick up the squad players have to kick in and show their worth, I am sure some of them will this season but most teams have to deal with big injuries during a season.

I do agree partly, X Files. No real easy games in the PL. But without Eden until the end of September and Bakayoko out as well until September, combined with our difficult start to the season could see us lose too much ground. I've been pretty sure for a while that it'll be you and City who'll fight for the title, and I'll stand by that. There's too much quality and depth in your respective squads.

I just hope it'll be a fight for the title until the very end. Runaway champions are boring :-)

Oh and X Files, you're spot on regarding Christensen. He might not be very well known to the average PL fan, but he's a special talent at CB.

I think the Chelsea squad looks light it did against arsenal as well.
I think no Europe and lucky run of injuries last season has fooled a few .
Good team, not the team people make them out to be imo.

No question playing a full schedule will expose teams like Chelsea and Liverpool. Even spurs last year were so so until they were out of all domestic and European competition and then they put that great run together.

For me personally, I think Liverpool is the team that will struggle. let's see how they go in their CL qualifier. I am hoping they get through funny enough.

Who says I'm crying about the injury? Just saying it's a huge factor and will cost us points. It's not just some random injury. It's our best player, and quite probably the best player in the PL that's injured. That's a huge loss, which ever way you want to spin it.

We should be fine to handle CL and PL once our key players return to fitness and we get another 2 or 3 players in. Bakayoko and Eden fit, plus the acquisition of another wingback and CM will make a big big difference. Our team is still worse than yours, but we can hang with most clubs if we don't have too many injuries.
