The start of a new season is exciting but let's remember early games do not always point to who will be Champions. Saying that we do need to start well, the pressure is on.

At the moment I feel City are the ones to beat and Jesus could be the player. I am repeating myself but if we want to win it we need two players, a full back and a worthy No7.

Welcome back Chicarito today, a player who wasn't quite good enough with his back to goal to be a regular starter for us but knew how to make good runs and score goals. It was a pity we let him go as we need goals this season, other than from the main striker, the Mexican was a tremendous asset from the bench.

I want a win today of course but I want to see us go at it with tempo from the start. Last season it looked like we were not ready to go at teams in the first half and only after a half time jolt or a realisation we needed to win did we start to press. I am looking for us to press from the start in games and if we see that I think we will win more games than last season which would put us in contention.

Hoping for a good start and none of the defensive nightmares teams have suffered, a good solid start is what i am looking for but it would be nice for them not to completely drop off in second halves this season like they did last, a good start for Lukaku too would be good.

To be honest I've not been impressed with any of our rivals thus far.

Arsenal still look to be missing something at the back and in midfield.

Liverpool, Brazil going forward but costa rica at the back. That backline looks like it will always concede. But will the forwards always be able to score. They look light in midfield too.

Chelsea I'm the most surprised at. Ok red cards didn't help. But based on the summer Conte's had a few wobbles and I think that's been passed on to the team.

And city, labour to beat Brighton but already anointed champions by the media.

Mort

City will get better as the season goes on and so will Chelsea. I think Liverpool will find it difficult especially if Coutinho does not have his heart into it if they block his move. If they sell him its bye bye top 6 IMO.

I expect us to get out of the gates really well given we have added 2 very proven PL players and only a defender that needs to get used to this league and his team. Second term for the manager and players being quite settled and we have not had any distractions with the squad such as Players wanting out, which is the case with everyone else.

Chelsea and Liverpool will find it tougher this season with the extra games. But I think conte's a few incidents away from a meltdown and that could finish their season.

City will get better but I don't see all the fuss. The media were the same last season. Pep has to deliver the league this season after the spend he's had. If he doesn't then who knows.
