Not United related, but at a time when most on here are decrying the international break, can I just pay tribute to Johnny Evans, and a starting XI comprising of three Premier League players, five from the Championship, two from League One and one from the Scottish Premiership.

To beat the Czech Republic 2-0, when the pressure was really on, was a fantastic achievement by a team that is greater than the sum of it's parts, and shows how a good tactical manager can be worth his weight in gold.

Evans showed just how much more mature he is as a defender these days, and though Steve Davis is the captain, Evans has become a real leader at the back.

Germany next, and in all likelihood a return to reality, but by God I'm enjoying the ride.

ps. Glad to see Rashford get on the scoresheet last night. One of the few England players that doesn't seem scared when he gets the ball. That early mistake could have saw him him retreat into his shell, but the young lad seems to be mature beyond his years. Bodes well for us.

At a time when everyone is bemoaning internationals, they have been spectacular Nou. Are they guaranteed second place behind Germany now? Incredible.

Rashford and Jones played very well.

Looking forward to seeing Rash and Martial develop this season, they will both get plenty of playing time. I can see them pushing each other all the way through the season.

I think it maybe wouldn't do any harm, Dodgy, if England missed out on qualifying for a couple of major tournies. I think England supporters have perhaps taken it for granted. Believe me, when you're not there it bloody hurts.

I remember missing out on USA 94 which was bad after being in semi 4 years earlier. Big reforms were promised and never delivered. It took years to get st Georges park up and running.

Since Euro 2004 we have been poor. Players play as individuals and not as a team. Friendly games should be where players who don't normally get picked, are given a chance to see how they perform at that level.
As we approach a tournament and players get injured. It's the same old story, he's never played at international level before so it's too much of a gamble to take him.
I remember ED001 saying that sponsors influence who gets picked as well. Every manager has to compromise from day one, knowing that they aren't in full control.

I think Evans always had something but he isn't the player he was at united, sometimes people need that move to learn or grow as a player, do I think he's good enough for you guys now? Yes, he's get in most back 4, he does a good job but often gets overlooked. Seems like someone you want on the pitch, doesn't blame everyone else, calm, collected, can pass. Fair play to the lad he's definitely grown as a player.

Nou, michael O'Neil has done an amazing job. Well on his way to being a top top manager.
