3 more points. That's it.

A lot of average performances today but 3 points on a bad day is a good result.

Maybe these bad days should be seen as normal days moving forward, it might temper my expectations of seeing some high quality football.

If you keep dishing out 6/ 10 performances, with a couple of minutes of 10/ 10. I think it's time we (the royal we) just accepted that it's what we are going to see. Those West Ham performances may come about once or twice a season it seems. I thought we were better than this, I expect to see better than this - I do think if we play like this we will come unstuck against good teams, maybe it's enough to win the league but the CL is a pipe dream unless we get a lot of luck.

Beast you have a bit of a point but at least enjoy the win for a moment.

Beast I agree somewhat with where you are coming from but let me remind you that these are the type of performances that put Juventus in two finals of the Champions League in the past 3 years.

Beast, what's happened to you? We used to be so close and yet now I feel like I don't know you any more. You've changed, all you do is find fault and criticise when before you used to tell me how pretty I am. I fear our relationship will never recover, we could try a dirty weekend full of inappropriate sexual positions but perhaps it is too late, even for that.

Come on mate, today wasn't great but we won. This year we have been much better and if we continue to progress then things are looking up. Take a step back, the bigger picture is promising.

Although another 3 points. We are going to have these kind of performances sometimes. Not always going to be rosy fast paced football. I just enjoyed the resilience and the defending. Although under the cost, I can't remember if de gea had to make a save.

I felt a lot of the team were lacklustre and had many lapses in concentration. I think that will be kicked out of them by Jose next week though and we will see a decent response come palace.

Yeah a win is a win, but every week we add the caveat "it wasn't great but", I'm just griping that it would be nice to drop that caveat.

If we hadn't seen how capable we were first game of the season then I suppose I wouldn't moan so much. My pet hate is unfulfilled potential, we have the ability to win and play well - be nice to combine them more frequently.

Besides everyone is agreeing here. It's just I'm pointing out this is by no means an isolated incident, same last week and the week before, but most people are acting like this was the first time we played poorly and won - yet it's agreed virtually every week that is what happens. Even Everton and Swansea we played like this, we just had a blitz in those games, which we can't rely on.

We played rubbish under Fergie an still win. Winning ugly is a skill all on its own. Wait till city fizzle out.

9.) 24 Sep 2017

We only won 1-0. EVERYBODY PANIC.

Ever thought of taking up knitting or something Beast? If I got as little joy out of my passions as you seem to, I'd seriously re-evaluate my life.

Mort it is really funny that this performance is being shielded with this happened under Fergie too category, please remind me when was the last time under SAF did a mid table club keep us pinned in and around our own penalty box for a 30-40 mins like we were some bottom table fodder hanging on for dear life.

What happened against Everton was something you saw a fair few times under Sir Alex not this rubbish.

I think we have been pretty good this year, the second half yesterday was pretty dire I'll agree, ending up playing. 6-1-2-1 at Southampton is slightly embarrassing for a club of our stature but sometimes the team isn't playing well and you do what you need to do to get the points.

I don't think Fellaini and Matic works, I'm not having a dig at either of them but I think we need more legs, I'd start Herrera.

I'm not sure city are going to fizzle out . Pep is in his second year they look like a pep team now and he is a very good manager .

24 Sep 2017 08:28:45
Not really sold on pep jred. You or I would be very good too the amount he has spent.

I think if someone gave us 400 million we might buy some decent players.

14.) 24 Sep 2017
24 Sep 2017 09:12:48
Is this a joke Angel - we have spent a fortune over the past few years - wasted a fortune as well. we could play like City if we wanted to, our manager just prefers grab and hold, Pep prefers grand and keep grabbing.

I think they look the real deal, they will outscore teams like we used to. Not score and hold on for dear life.

15.) 24 Sep 2017
24 Sep 2017 09:38:47
Angle
You could say the same about Jose.

16.) 24 Sep 2017
24 Sep 2017 10:53:16
Except Jose has been able to do it without spending vasts amounts of money or having squads like Barcelona and Bayern had.

Porto and Inter were incredible wins.

I'm not sure on pep or his coaching abilities.

24 Sep 2017 10:55:51
We were also talking about pep here not about our own situation. I was only commenting on jreds post about pep.

Everywhere he has gone he has had incredible amounts of money and already incredible squads at his disposal.

I think most half decent managers would have succeeded at Barcelona and Bayern.

You want to speak about our downfalls of spending money over the years, well then that's another debate.

But I was speaking of pep.
