Great Win, I wasn't remotely confident of a win but they were full of unity, Wales just couldn't break them down, Ireland are finally getting a team to be proud of again.

a lot of good teams in the playoffs but they're there for a reason any can beat any over two legs, Croatia and Italy's are the only two i'd fear.

Ed we are a hard team to beat,
We were missing 3 or 4 players and I thought houlihan should have started but I was wrong.
As I said there's good spirit there and it will take a good team to come to dublin and beat us.
And we can win away, we didn't lose an away game all campaign.

{Ed025's Note - im not saying you are no-hopers leahy, just that other teams like italy and possibly portugal will be the teams to avoid, i really hope you get through and i will be cheering them on mate..

Congrats ireland, if it had to be anyone taking our place then happy it’s you guys but your going to need to show some ambition in the play offs, 1 mistake from wales is what got you thru, not that i'm bitter 😂.

Haha WRD. Correct me if I'm wrong but even a draw wasn't enough for you lot at the end due to other results last night. Imagine if you had scored one right at the death, then none of us would have went through lol.

I think all those games are tough ed. I think Greece probably being the easiest for the seeded teams.

Ireland always seem to have this grit and ability to get a result when needed. I think Italy would prefer someone else than Ireland. We've always done okay against them.

Ed025, out of the 4 unseeded teams (Greece, Sweden, Ireland, Northern Ireland) Who do you think out of the seeded teams (Italy, Portugal/ Switzerland, Denmark, Croatia) will want to avoid the most in the qualifiers.

I'm betting they would all prefer someone else rather than the ROI. I'm with you on this Leahy.

No your right Croatia won so we had to win to get above them and Slovakia into the last playoff spot. Wales played well in general play but we didn’t really know what to do up top, Allen going off didn’t help, obvs missed Bale but can’t rely on 1 player, future is bright with Brooks, Woodburn, Lawrence and can see bale being used as a CF for wales before too long. Will Coleman be there tho, I’m not so sure. As for Ireland, tough team to break down but to beat any of those in the play offs they will need to have a go at some point, hope Ireland do it for Keanoo! Lol.

Okay mate it that's what you think. I would have thought a toss up between those 2 sides.

Ireland are always tough to beat. Just the reality of the past number of years. They always seem to get a result.

Nah ed0025 I'm not a touchy Irish fan or anything. International football is what it is. For me Sweden and Ireland are a toss up, Leahy was right, I don't think anyone would like to draw Ireland. I'm sure they would much prefer either Greece or N Ireland.
