Apart from Man Utd, what other teams do you support/ follow and why?

I have two:

AC Milan because my partner is from milan and her family support Milan. When I go to the San Siro I go in the curva with the ultras. It's an incredible experience unlike anything in the Premier League.

San Lorenzo was my team when I lived in Buenos Aires. San Lorenzo have the best songs including one to the tune of 'Despacito' which you can see here https:/ / www. youtube. com/ watch? v=XFZ2yPhqcHw being sung by the 'Popular' part of the stadium where I used to stand. The Pope supports San Lorenzo.

Mines obviously United and Boca Juniors!

My wife is from Buenos Aires and I get to watch Boca when we visit her family! (Her Dad is season ticket holder)

Nothing can beat the atmosphere of la bombenera on a match day.

Very passionate fans over their and will be a shame if Argentina don’t qualify for the World Cup later this evening.

Boca Utd; you're lucky to be a regular visitor to Buenos Aires (what a city! ) and have such easy access to la bombenera; tickets are hard/ expensive to come by.

Most of my friends in Buenos Aires support Boca but I wanted to follow a team where I could go to the games and a different match day experience from Old Trafford.

San Lorenzo are towards the top end of the Primera Division (currently 7th) and this year reached the quarter finals of the Copa Libertadores. However, the stadium and quality of football is more Division 1 than EPL. Also, even though Buenos Aires is not a cheap city, it cost £10 a month membership for free admission to the standing section for all league games.

I don't have any team I support other than United. I do have a few teams I have a soft spot for though.

Juventus being the main one, I grew up watching a lot of Serie A, and at that time Juventus stood out as the entertainers of Italian football. Players such as Zidane, Nedved and Del Piero. These were players I idolised and therefore I still have a soft spot for Juventus.

I also have vivid memories of watching LvG's Ajax side play amazing football on their way to winning the UCL, I loved their style and swagger with such a young side.

Athletic Bilbao are a team I admire for no reason other than their steadfast belief in using local players. They don't want to win if it means disregarding their history and I admire that. Principals over success. It's a refreshing thing to see these days.

Although other than United Juventus are the only team I try and watch it possible.

Red Star Belgrade
Real Madrid because of all the utd players that went there and because I can't support Barca.

I don't support other teams but I keep my eye on Reading as that is where my wife is from and I've been a few times, and I also have a soft spot for Villa from when they got promoted with us in '75.

United, cork city, Celtic, I enjoy watching all the championship sides when they come up, there always seems to be a tenacity and desire you don't see in established premier league sides and who doesn't love an underdog.

With you there Danny. Luton lad myself. Some great days home and away especially about 2002 time.

Danny, I always had a soft spot for Luton. My cousin, Stephen Robinson, now manager of Motherwell, used to play for them years ago, so we all adopted the team.

Aberdeen are my second team, tho. Started following them in the Fergie years, because everyone at home was either Rangers or Celtic, and I was always an awkward wee bugger. They turned out not too bad in the end. Then went to Uni there, partly so I could see them most weeks - Manchester didn't do my course unfortunately.

Having said that, I was taken to OT for the first time, at 6 years of age, and met one of my heroes Micky Thomas, just hanging around outside the stadium. Guy was a gentleman to me, so there's only one team really.

Stephen Robinson from Northen Ireland Nou? If so, a quality player for Luton. Great attacking cm and a legend for the goal past the scousers in that epic game.

My cousin is manager of Dundee! But apart from Celtic I don't follow Sunday league football. Lol.

Lots of good responses here; thanks very much. Football tends to reflect life and brings people together so it's interesting to see what a varied, international bunch we all are.

A couple of lines really stood out such as Mickey Thomas "just hanging around outside the stadium" at OT. what? and LvG's Ajax side "playing amazing football". which seems incredible after our experience of the worst football ever under LvG.

Milan in the early 90s because of all the great players they had. Always had a soft spot for them, especially Maldini. Shame they have fallen so low now.

Real Madrid in the late 90s because of Raul, Hierro and Suker, and Championship Manager. Can't stand them now because of all the shady things they've done.

But my first love for whom I still hold a candle is La Viola. When Football Italia was on the telly when I was young, Batigol was everything. And I fell in love with the purple strip too. I even supported Roma the year they won because he moved there.

He was with one of the Greenhoff brothers (my memory's letting me down these days), on the Friday before the match, just chewing the fat and signing autographs for kids like me. Not a security guard in sight. I think my mum still has my Utd autograph book in her attic. Good thread.
