Yesterdays game was a bit of a litmus test to give us some perspective as to the teams progression.

What we learnt is that we haven't really progressed very much and that we still have a long way to go before we can compete with the best teams in Europe.

I think our good start to the season has flattered to deceive

That's OK because I'll set myself to enjoy the ride as we build and develop a better squad.

I think yesterdays game was perfect for Zlatan who I expect would have imposed himself on Liverpool's centre halfs and would have given us a platform to play from.

I was expecially disappointed with Lukaku and Mikki yesterday. Lukaku looked like the lazy soft lad I feared he was. Granted he wasn't getting much service but that's when a top drawer centre forward needs to start putting himself about to make something happen.

I don't think Mikki is the answer at no 10 either; too anonomous in big games, especially those played at pace. There are better options and we should find one.

Not sure how that game can be considered any sort of measure of how far we have progressed.

Some of Fergie's greatest teams got their pants pulled down at Anfield, by poorer Liverpool sides than the one we faced yesterday.

IMO, there has been a lot of improvement in all areas. Just my opinion of course.

Dunno why Jose is getting all this stick in the press tbh, there was 2 chances in the whole game, 1 for each side, Liverpool was at home onus was on them and they did nothing, Klopp somehow has avoided stick yet Jose whose job it is to get a result did so and he’s anti football etc. nonsense for me.

Its what jose does in big games away from home. No surprise there. i'm disappointed with the approach i think most fans would be.
I expect to see more attacking intent in the home fixtures against the other ' big 5'

Not progressed? You're kidding right? We've been scoring goals for fun and only conceded 2 so far creating lots of chances. Yesterday was poor but to say we hav not progressed is ridiculous.

i think the approach could have been different if the game came before the international break. we also struggled against Stoke after an international break and before a Champions League game so definitely lose some momentum when the international break comes.

AJH, I said we haven't progressed very much. Sure, we are now better at taking care of the so called lesser teams but yesterday was our first big test of the season. Do you think Barca, Madrid or Munich would have been as woeful as we were yesterday? Do you think they would have looked at that Liverpool side and been as afraid as we were to try and beat them?
