People can complain about the manager, players being injured etc. but the main issue IMO is the fullbacks and wingers.

We lack a proper right back, we have an inconsistent left back, in Luke Shaw, and no out and out wingers.

Until those 4 positions are sorted out i don't think we will get much better, regardless of the manager we have or the injuries.

I agree it's a major problem Keight. Thing is we have had 2 managers that have not addressed this issue now with hundreds of million to spend - quality wingers and full backs have moved clubs all over Europe during this time. Some indeed to Manchester.

Maybe a more "bothered" manager will address those issues.

Any follower of football with half a brain could tell you that we have lacked quality out wide for ages - manager, Woody, I don't know who is to blame, probably both. But it is a disgrace that the obvious issue hasn't been addressed properly. We have had to rebuild a lot and arguably the spine is most important if starting from scratch, but the wastage and neglect is horrible.

Pretty sure the majority will agree Keight, but as Beast indicated, the must do job is to sort out the uncertainty regards JM. If as suggested there are problems and he could leave, that would be more devastating than the playing personnel as it could totally destroy anything good on the playing front. I think he has shot Shaw, to pieces and his man management of others can be questioned also. He hasn't altered his approach 1 bit since the turmoil at Chelsea and milan and Madrid weren't all sweetness and light. He has delivered thus far which is his trump card but he really is a miserable sod and doent give the impression he wants to be at old Trafford.

Think that's a bit harsh beast. Shaw was highly regarded a few years ago and so was Darmian. Maybe more should have been done in the background but can't blame managers for players failings if the players can't or won't take on board what's been said.

Maybe Mort - but a lot of these players we buy look top quality in other teams, then we sign them and .

Darmian, ADM both started amazingly, then LVG got his negativity into them. Even Depay tailed off from average to awful. Martial hasn't truly returned, with Rashford being preferred who is very very hit and miss, (quality for his age, but we are Man Utd) .

Shaw was unfortunate, but how long has that been going on for, I can't remember seeing him play more than 1 game on the bounce.

Lindelof, Miki both look like wastes at the minute. Lukaku started pretty well, dropped off as well recently looking exactly like the other strikers we signed, may as well have kept Rooney up there for all the service our striker gets. There are reasons and excuses for all of it. But I have a feeling that Jose's ideal starting back 5 would be DDG, Young, Valencia, Smalling and Jones (maybe Bailly instead but he has dropped him recently), those players were all here under SAF - so what's going on?

We don't have a proper winger in the team. We have been saying it for ages, yet Jose signs a striker that relies on proper wingers and full backs that can cross (probably why Young is playing more as well) . Dereliction of duty if you ask me. It's like there were lots of holes in the boat and our managers/ Woody just put all the tools into fixing the easy ones and then ignoring the others, just waiting until they can fix the easy ones again.

That's it tho. Is it all on managers or on woody or on both. Jose wanted a natural wide player in perisic and woody couldn't / wouldn't get it done.

But he wanted Perisic and couldn't get him, the fella is flying in Italy now. He wanted gRIEZEMANN, couldn't get him nor Varane, nor marquinhos - Mendy apparently made it clear he wasnt interested so what can you do? He has been backed so man up get on with it, if he ain't happy there's the door -

Btw - Luke Shaw . LVG said he arrived unfit, one of Hodgsons backroom staff said they had issues with his fitness, Hoddle said he has issues keeping fit . Jose has problems with him obvioulsy and now Pochettino is quoted in that new biography as saying he told Shaw to buck up with fitness and attitude more than once if he wanted to make it at Southampton. Pattern much? Not all Uniteds fault if Shaw isn't getting picked .

A lot of the players in our squad are playing to their full potential which is average.
