It could, he is an excellent player. I don’t know if he is quite the right player for us though. We have creative No.10’s in Mkhitaryan and Mata, yet neither seem to offer the physicality/ work rate that Jose prizes in his players. I think Ozil falls into that same category. We have seen over the last couple of games how we are transformed offensively when a hard working No.10 such as Lingard plays. I think there are better options out there for us than Ozil.

Özil would get hammered by fans even more than he is now if he joined us I would imagine.

I could see Ozil at United I think he’d be protected from the abuse for lack of defensive work as you play relatively defensively anyway so I think it could be well suited. Would you guys be happy with the signing?

Yes i can see it happening. he's a talented player and judging by comments from Ed Woodward this type of transfer would appeal given Mesut also has a large social media following.
