Arsenal out of the cup with neither ozil or sanchez cup tied surely aresenal will cash in on both ood them and hope to get the right players in to maintain a top 4 challenge.
They are in a tough spot it will be hard to replace those 2 in January imo. They could do worse than miki and mahrez.
I wonder their is real interest from us in ozil and if so what price would represent a good deal in people's opinion?
He would be available in all comps and could add some quality to our attacking play. He would bring great experience too.

Ozil is quality, so technically gifted, very rarely makes a bad decision when it comes to playing the right pass. I expect him to head back to Germany where he’s appreciated more. I’d love him here though. He’s a level above miki and mata.

Exactly what we lack a creative midfileder that plays the right pass at the right time.

Mark my words Ozil will disappoint. No doubting his talent and class on his day but a pure luxury. He won't press, track back, work hard (on a consistent basis anyway) and he doesn't score enough. Not what we need in my opinion. If we want any player from Arsenal then surely it's got to be Sanchez!

Good thought provoking post. Jose rated Oscar higher than Mata at Chelsea and we have that to thank for Mata joining us, but that was a few years ago and Oscar has been in semi-retirement for a while as far as I am concerned (Yes, a massive generalisation on the "money leagues" but just my opinion! ), so a no from me. Besides, we have enough players who naturally want to play as a "10", but not enough natural width.

I'd like us to sign a right winger who can cut inside, but if we sign a "10", Mezut Ozil is the one for me.

Danny, I remember reading Ozil has some of the best stats in the league for distance covered. Could you be wrong about his tracking back or is that stat misleading?

What Oezil gives you is committed running to find space, support attacks and run beyond the striker. He will run into the opposition six yard box rather than stop at the penalty spot as if there is an invisible midfielders forcefield.

In defensive transition he does the opposite. He chases back and tries to get goal side (the level of "trying" can be variable) but almost always stops around 10 yards outside the defensive area, regardless of what is happening around him.

This is the one area of his game I think he needs to step up. It's like he has a "not my job" mentality to scramble defensive situations - but if others are caught up field he needs to drop in. I'm convinced this could be corrected by a Jose type manager.

Overall I think he is an upgrade on what we have, but I would also like a wide right winger come goal scorer. Maybe Peresic? Savic?

Perisic is a left winger all his career and savic a central midfielder so neither if those are suitable for a rw role.
