I was making pie and had a dodgy stream but I managed to see most of the game. Not a great first half but much better in the second and a deserved win.

Hats off to McTominay who was smacked around and wiped out for what was a nailed on penalty. He got up, dusted himself down and got on with it, good lad. I thought the attitude throughout was very good, even in a difficult first half there was energy and urgency which hasn’t always been there.

Sanchez has bvery high standards and whilst this can make him appear grumpy, I am hoping he demands more from his team mates and they step up a level. I’m also hoping he helps Lukaku get more service as if he does, he will score more goals (Lukaku) .

Finally, I’m not Jose’s biggest fan and one of the fears was his lack of trust in youngsters or home grown players. But he’s made Lingard a first choice, played Rashford in almost every game, and is now giving McTominay game time so fair play to him. I’m really glad he dropped Pogba, this suggests that he has a plan and the players aren’t executing it, which whilst not ideal is better than him not having a plan at all.

As for Scousers vs Spurs, I’m looking for a Spurs win and if Chelsea win that pushes Liverpool down to fifth, cue Scouse meltdown.

Hope it was short crust, lovely.
I really like Mctominay, he gets stuck in, has loads of energy and gets the ball back and lays it off simply. That was a brutal body check though. Made me shudder.
