That's one for fans. out of two potential targets which one is more prefered. Jean Seri or Jorginho? Please share your input.

Jorginho by far. Great passing range and ball retention which we seem to miss in our midfield. He has the capability of passing long and also providing incisive balls from midfield to start attacks. His passing statistics are consistently 90% in every game he plays. His is tactically aware and intelligently positions himself to break up play. His workrate is very good and his has good pace which we lack in midfield. The key for me is his footballing brain which we seem to lack in our team. Weaknesses would be that he is fairly slight in frame and poor in the air but we have other players for that and that should not be a measure of a footballer imo.

Onto seri, he is much more versatile player than Jorginho, with the ability to play deep lying midfield, box to box or even behind the striker. He has a good shot from distance and is decent from set pieces. He is not the sort of player to grab the game by the scruff of the neck or pull his teammates up, he can often go missing which is something we do not need. His is also relatively short 5ft 6 if I am correct so it would be a strange signing for Jose. He also suffers from some condition which reacts badly to cold weather so I am not sure whether it would be sensible to sign him. Clearly talented and almost moved to Barca, but we need a Carrick replacement and Jorginho is perfect.

Haha not going to lie Deano I love to watch a lot of of European football as I wanted to be a football scout before the parents told me not to waste my time 😂. But I agree with ken both would do nicely with attributes we lack in midfield. Still would like to see Herrera stay instead of splashing on another midfielder like seri.

On the total another view. my first choice here is Milincovic-savic. And Scott McTominy to replace Carrick and Fellaini. Returning Andreas Parera and TFM will provide more depth and versatility.

I thought herrera might start tonight. He knows the ground and style of play experience we could do with tonight.

On the above great assessments. I like seri been watching a while now after reading we were linked. Veey industrious busy player but jorgihno is more in the deep lying playmaker mould . His size is not an issue he is a crafty tough little nut and can look after himself and the ball.

Here's a midfield option out of left field, Leandro Paredes of Zenit St Petersburg. He has excellent at Roma before his move to Russia looks the complete midfielder to me. Tackles well, passes excellently, cleaver movement, good reading of the game, able to dictate a game and works hard.
