Good read Tris. In terms of the Liverpool game I think this will polarise opinions on Jose again today. We started the season scoring freely yet went to Anfield against a Liverpool team that looked a little shaky and yet we set up very defensively. That was a turning point and we then started to struggle.

Against City at home I thought we set up ok but just couldn’t get the ball off them. It will be fascinating to see how today goes. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 3 CBs and 2 sitting CMs with the full backs asked to play further forward, this would leave us the option of 3 more central attacking players all running at the Liverpool CBs.

I shall wait to see who we pick, and how we play before digging a hole for myself.

{Ed001's Note - I would have thought it would be a mistake to go 3 at the back against a front 3, as it can leave them one-on-one at times. Liverpool have looked more threatening when facing a back 3 all season.}

I take your po Nt. it if he sticks Matic back there and even McTom then it becomes a solid wall. To be honest Ed I’ve not seen a United formation that has looked like one we should stick with all season. Despite all the spending we still look like a collection of invidividuals, many of whom are not playing to their potential. The good new I guess is that if we can find a formation that works, there is still a lot of scope for us to get much better.

{Ed001's Note - not good news for everyone else though.}

Indeed, I wonder how much better Liverpool, Spurs, and City can play. Spurs seemed to have peaked for me, hopefully City will flag from Pep’s intensity next year and as for your lot, I guess if you sort the defence and keeper out then you just need to keep the forwards firing. Wouldn’t it be good to have a four way fight next year?

{Ed001's Note - much better mate, be better if every team stopped waving the white flag for City, they are not as good as their points total has made them look.}

Just imagine DDG as Gk for Liverpool the points he would save would have them well clear of us at least.

On that note who in your view is the best keeper right now ed1? I think DDG is the best but doesn't seem to get acknowledgement outside England.

{Ed001's Note - de Gea for me right now.}

I do not want to imagine that Deep. Horrible thought.

DDG has made 2 saves this year that were as good as Banks’s Pele save and whilst they got some attention at the time, I think they didn’t get anough coverage.

I see klopps made a fool of himself again. The comment about if Jose doesn't win trophies then question his style. Forgetting of course what Jose won last year not to mention over his career when klopps own medal collection looks somewhat anaemic. Don't you get embarrassed Ed?

{Ed001's Note - why would I get embarrassed? He is right, if Jose does not continously win trophies then his style has to be called into question. It is meant to be an entertainment, he is not providing entertainment, so he has to keep providing trophies. I would be more embarrassed if my manager was constantly publicly slagging off my own team's players, but there you go, I guess you would rather pick at things that most people on here have said exactly the same as.}

Looks like no Pogba today. No Herrera either. I'm not sure how the midfield is going to look today. Is Fellaini fit? Carrick?
Jose could be forced into actually playing a more attacking formation by default.
I really hope Bailly can play.

De Gea's save last week from Benteke was unbelievable. It left me shaking my head. He just keeps getting better. Incredible player. Amazing to think the criticism he took when he first arrived. So strong mentally. World no.1? Absolutely in my opinion.

I don't see anything wrong in what Klopp said to be fair. As long as Jose keeps on winning trophies he will be okay if it stops him from winning then people will naturally question his tactics.

Point is though Jose has been winning trophies. Two last year. What's Klopp won?
