I loved watching rashford yesterday.
Take aside his 2 goals. He was chasing and tracking and throwing himself into tackles.
To me he was saying to the manager and to every fan.
'Look at me look how hard ill try i have obvious quality but i'm also prepared to make every efforr to work as hard as i can for the team i want to play every week.
Now that workrate has to be his benchmark.
Mctom does the same
Take note pogba shaw martial these young players want your place and they deserve to take your place if you don't show the same attitude.
Manchester united players should treat every game as a trial.
I remember giggs saying when he broke into the team he used to chase bakls that were going over the dead ball line even when he knew he couldn't catch them. Just to prove to the crowd that he was trying and he did that until the end of his career.

He was brilliant yesterday ken. What I love about him is he is so direct and pacy that he frightens the life out of defenders. His directness is something which sets him apart from our other attackers in the squad. His first finish was class and you could tell how much it meant to him as a local lad. We have some really good competition in the attacking positions with rashford and mata giving Jose a selection headache with their timely return to form.

Good post Ken I agree.

Just playing devils advocate here but if Martial was playing wide left y'day would he have been on the end of Lukaku's flick on?

Don't get me wrong I love Martial but I do have question marks over his work rate and desire. I'm always left with the feeling he could give a bit more despite his obvious talent. I had the same reservations about Miki.

The biggest difference between y'day and the game at Anfield earlier in the season was in my opinion Lukaku was able to hold the ball better and the likes of Rashford, Sanchez and even Mata we're prepared to break their necks to get up in support from slightly deeper positions. I'm not sure we saw enough of that desire or commitment from either Martial or Miki at Anfield that day. I think they both got subbed if I remember correctly.

Just a little observation which I probably would have kept to myself if I hadn't read your post.

Good point on martial Danny. I think he is more talented that rashford but I agree he doesn’t seem to have the same workrate. Both of them have qualities which are needed against certain opposition. Against the smaller teams martial’s intricacy and dribbling is more useful against teams which sit back whereas rashford’s work rate and directness is more suited when we are looking to counter against the big teams. We had some of our best performances at the beginning of the season rotating them and keeping them on their toes. They both have a place in the squad for whatever circumstances we face. I think it’s a great conundrum to have.

At this point in time Martial is the cooler of the two, Rashford the more explosive and harder worker.

If you compare he game between us and Liverpool at Anfield you can clearly see just how much lukaku’s general game has improved. His passion as well even when he isn’t the goal scorer is great to see. He is only going to get better, hope he reaches 30 goals.

Good post ken. I think pogba and martial need to up their workrate and intensity. Shaw is different, he always looks out of shape and I'll be very surprised if he's still here next season.
If pogba and martial come out with a bit of bite and intensity, then we will have two world class players on our hands.

ken, to be fair i think Jose has been right leaving Rashford out. he was not playing well and Jose kept him out of the limelight and the scavenger press he came out yesterday with a point to prove i agree.
