What about Hamsik, Ed001? I know he is deployed a bit deeper these days, but I still think he's at his best just off a striker.

{Ed001's Note - I know, I know, I think so too but he is playing there so rarely I didn't feel I could include him. Milinkovic-Savic I think is best as an attacking mid as well, but he usually plays deeper so I had to miss him out.}

No question about Savic. I quite like Talisca as well. big and strong, but can be a bit too flashy at times. Not too dissimilar to Pogba.

{Ed001's Note - I did consider him and had him in a few times I put the list together. There are so many that could have been in once you get past 6 or 7 that you pick them out of a hat and it would still be ok.}

True. Made a nice change from reading the Manchester-Liverpool "banter". Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - glad you enjoyed mate.}

There are actually not may I could think of not on the list. Maybe Pjanic? I think number 10's and attacking midfielders are a dyeing breed. Normally there would be quite a few South Americans but not many now that I can of. Agree about Iniesta, also one of my all time favourites. For all the "help" Barcelona has had over the past so many years I think he has been their most important and best player. Moves/ glides around a lot like Zidane did. You don't seem to get the ball carriers anymore like you used to, Riquelme, Zidane, Hagi, Okocha, Zola, Baggio, Rivaldo, Deco, Diego etc.

{Ed001's Note - I love Iniesta, the only reason I watched Barca-Chelsea was to see him play. You are right though, most tend to be half and half driving box-to-box midfielders playing high up the pitch these days.}
