Let's hope so ed, though we both know what lawwell is like for selling our best players.

{Ed007's Note - He can't sell a player who doesn't want to leave.}

Course you can, happens quite often.

I'm not saying its going to happen, but if a club came in with a huge offer maybe in the region of 50m or so. Either way, a sum the club just couldn't turn down then I'm sure the chairman will sit down with the lad and convince him the best thing he could do for the club and for his career is to leave.

I imagine the lad is very happy playing at his boyhood club and winning titles. However, if he is to fulfil his potential he is going to have to move to a league where he can be challenged every week, where there players who can push him to become better at all aspects of his game. Walking the league every year will only teach him so much, as will the limited amount of European games he will play, with Celtic rarely getting out of the group stage.

It's a real shame as the lad looks a fantastic talent, and in an ideal world I would love to see players playing for their boyhood clubs. I loved seeing Scholes and Neville at United, Del Piero at Juventus, Totti at Roma, Terry at Chelsea, Raul at Real Madrid, Iniesta at Barcelona and I even enjoyed seeing Gerrard and Carragher at Liverpool (mostly how much it hurt when they failed to win the league again. lol) .

However, I really don't think the lad can achieve his full potential playing in such a poor league. I in the end I feel that its more important for a player to make the most of their talent than to play at their boyhood club for their entire career.

With that said I would love to see him reach that potential in a United shirt, as as much as it probably pains both Ed007 and Jamesbhoy to admit it, if he was to leave Celtic I think both of them would rather him come to United than say Liverpool or Chelsea.

he can tell the boy he's accepted an offer though, just like he did with ledley when joe said he was about to sign a new contract with celtic, i did laugh at the fee talked about in the papers for tierney 20m ed, that wouldn't even buy one leg lol.

{Ed007's Note - KT's contract runs to 2023, Ledley had 6 months left on his.}
