What's people's thoughts on Herrera, player of the year last season there was a poll at the start of the season 64% wanted him as our next captain .
Seems to be the forgotten man now.

I'd guess his future depends on ins and outs jred if fellani and Carrick are gone and Jose selects his own preferences to replace them and gets 2 more and no other midfielder leaves then Herrera may find himself behind 2 new arrivals plus pogba, matic and mctom . I'd guess the sixth choice is probably available for sale . Things can change that though he may just buy one midfielder or someone else could leave.

I get the feeling he has lost confidence and form with the increasing realisation that he has fell down the pecking order with pogba, matic the improvement ofmctominay and linguard. Ad to the competition with mata, fellaini (who could go) and newest arrival sanchez and regular playing time will not come easily for him. If rumours are to be believed regarding his antics on international duty, he could also feel a bit of frozen out. I honestly believe he will go this summer and would neither blame him or be bothered at losing him.

I like herrera. I think he makes a decent contribution when called upon He was one of our better players last season.
Got passed out this season. Just hasn't kicked on. If i was him i'd be looking to move on. Has slipped too far down the pecking order and only a year left with no renewal on offer.
One of those players happy enough if he stays and happy enough to see him leave.

Decent player Herrera never really hit the hights he did in Spain imo .
Struggled this season but has had a very stop start season due to injuries, plays a lot of one touch give and go football and does better in a team that plays with a bit more tempo than the current United team .

Player of the season last year 64% of people on the site wanted him captain at the start of the season . Bit of a down turn in form for a variety of reasons and within a few month people would be happy for him to leave?
Gives 100% better player than mctom imo.

Look at the age difference and experience between Herrera and McTom. Of course he's a better player. But its down to what the manager prefers.

The question is simple do the club want to invest anther 20m in herrera by giving him a new contract. What will we get in return for that 20m and from his point of view how often will he play. Or do they want to sell him and invest in a new player.

But that's the club and players choice which is a very different discussion to the one above.

No doubt a new player would require greater investment jred but that's the question facing both club and player. Its stick or twist time he has not been offered a contract yet as far as i know. Depending on what else transpires in the summer will have a bearing on whether he gets a new offer.
Id be happy either way he is a good player who makes a decent contribution when called upon.
