How many on here are hoping that Laporte starts at LB on Saturday?

Marcus would be licking his lips.

Sometimes logic just doesn't work in football.

Salah has probably been the best player in the league this season, beating players for fun and scoring a hat full of goals.

He is Liverpool's big threat.
So you can understand Pep's thinking in playing a quick strong centre back at LB to stop him. In theory it makes total sense. Pallets is very quick so should be able to keep up with Salah, he is physically stronger and as a centre back has good reading of the game and we'll honed defensive skills. He should be an ideal candidate to shut Salah out of the game.

Whereas, Ashley Young a right footed winger who is in the twilight of his career and who has never been considered to be defensive sound playing out of position against the league's in form player sounds like a hiding to nothing.

Yet it was Young who had Salah in his pocket, and Laporte who Salah had on toast.

Sometimes football just doesn't make sense.

Well said. Haters will hate.
