Hi Lads, first time poster here. Just learned of this forum from a dear friend (also a die hard united fan) who used to post on here.

First off its best people understand that my allegiance is with the United manager, not Jose but the United manager position and as long as he is here he gets my support. He has my respect for what he has achieved with us so far.

That said i wish to ask why people favor Poch for our role. For me he is one of the weakest managers to really take over one of the title contenders. There is a saying that goes- WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING.

But for Spurs, when the going gets tough, spurs pack up their bags and take the train home.

I really don't get why people always have that romance with him. His team may be playing some good ball but still has scored less than us, will finish lower than us. We really need to think like MANCHESTER UNITED. the pedigree of this club is huge.

Welcome UA and good point posted.
Precisely my point but I also acknowledge that supporters here who do not like Jose doesn’t mean they do not support the club. Everyone thinks differently since we all come from different background and culture.
That is why this is the best site in the world for me and managed by a team of great Eds. You get to know people and read their comments. Best still we are biggest club in the world 😉.

I like Poch. His teams play good football and he seems to get the best out of them, 2 key requirements for me where Jose is currently falling short. However, he hasn’t won anything and until he does he will just be another manager with potential.

Haha 666 Absolutely i'm addicted to this site 😂. The missus thinks I spend too much time on my phone and thinks I’m up to no good. When I told her about this site she thought i was really sad 😂. My first love will always be Manchester United I’m afraid.

AJH I agree I’m a fan of Poch and spurs on song are a joy to watch. But for the first time yesterday I questioned whether he has what it takes to make the step up. On paper spurs have a very strong first 11 with very few weaknesses. And with the way they press, I would have thought they would do what Liverpool did to city. But they were shocking yesterday, albeit city were very good. I thought Davidson Sanchez was shocking and losing Alderweireld will be a huge loss if he goes, which looks very likely.

Poch for me needs to win the FA Cup. So do this spurs team because they are becoming the nearly men too often. Only putting ‘pressure’ on isn’t really good enough. I would like Poch at united and I think he would be a great fit. But perhaps not at the moment. He has shown tactical naivety against the big sides far too often for me, especially away from home. But no doubt Poch has done a good job at spurs, but it’s time for them to win something otherwise they will start to lose key players.

Just to add my two pence worth. I think the reason Spurs never quite seem to realise their potential is Daniel Levy. Everyone knows he's tight as a ducks backside with wages and transfers which is admirable in a way but second tier money will only create a second tier team which is why the best players will always want to move on and why they'll never reach the top.

Great point TopBomin. Levy really is a very shrewd businessman and is running spurs very well. It is admirable but when a player can double his wages at a city or united, and still be a relatively low earner in comparison to the top earners at these clubs, then it’s no wonder players heads are being turned. Spurs’ players must look at the likes of Ashley young and think I’m better than them and yet they earn more than me. Whether we like it or not football is a business and in any industry if you can get an increase of salary at a competitor then 9/ 10 you would move. I read that levy earns more than Kane per year. Not sure if it is true and please correct me if I’m wrong eds. I suppose there is two ways at looking at it. One way is that levy runs the club and has done a very good job so deserves it. But the other is that the start striker, who the fans adore and idolise, deserves to be the highest paid person at the club. I do think if spurs don’t change their playment structure then we will see the big players leave.

I hear you guys and appreciate the comments.

But what good is the fancy football if there is no output? Livepool play the same way and have actually reached the semis of a major tournament so there you can actually take cognizance. Spurs have bottled it far too often for my liking. In a way they are the South Africa of football, "the chokers".

Yes their wage structure is a bit stringent but all their top players are still intact. They have the best striker in the league, goal keeper is top notch. Dembele is awesone, Eriksen is second to only De Bruyne. We would take their wingers in the blink of an eye and to top it all these guys have now been together for 3-4 years now. So they are a settled squad and should now be delivering. Some if not all the blame has to be at the managers doorstep.

I think Poch will get the job at Real once Zidane goes and then he might win something because only two teams play.

Could Jose take United to the next level with the same budget and wages as spurs

Could poch take spurs to the next level with the same budget and wages as United.
