Hi Eds

I just wondered if you could give us your opinion on how you think Ed Woodward is doing in his job? Everyone was very quick to blame managers like moyes and LVG and I wonder if woodward made any big mistakes? Losing David gill seemed like a big blow at the same time as sir Alex.

{Ed002's Note - Given he doesn't pick the players or the team and his efforts are based around negotiation, there is no obvious measure other than what the club has been paying for players.}

Ed is there a case at united where Woodward or the board reject a certain player if they don’t feel like that is who should be signed? (Perisic springs to mind) .

Or does Jose or whoever is manager have almost full control and presents his targets to Woodward? Or is there more of a compromise relationship?

{Ed002's Note - They have to all work together and Mourinho does not have full control.}

Based on what we have paid for players - I'm literally amazed he is still in the job. He must cover himself in glory in other areas of responsibility, but on this one area i'd rather have the 'AOL' executives that negotiated the 'Time Warner' deal in charge (that is saying something)!

{Ed002's Note - Unless you can be more specific about your complaint I can't respond.}

It was more of a general complaint about our waste - excessive transfer fees and wages, for relatively little in return. (comparatively) .

I don't expect you to know the answer here, but if you have any insight it would be appreciated. Do you know if the board have any plans to replace Woody with somebody else regarding transfer business, or if the board have made their views known about the job being done in this department?

Like most Utd fans I am very happy with the amount we have spent in recent years, just very disappointed with many of the acquisitions that don't make sense (for many reasons) . The indecision and desperation we have shown must be a jackpot scenario for agents.

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing specific there B.}

I think the Pogba deal took the biscuit for me. A world record fee with the Agent pocketing an unbelievable sum of money. Then there was Obra, a free transfer but wages that make your eyes water, perception is often only that, it my perception is that Woody is a very talented businessman but not necessarily a football expert. He seems to be very keen on marque signings which is why I believe he will go after Bale if he believes him to be avaiable. As I say, just perception, I have no facts.
