It’s rather odd and, without being hyper-critical, somewhat negative. Looking forward to pre-match interview with Jose. Is he picking World Cup players, putting players in the shop window, sending “you’re not good enough” messages or resting players for next week. Either way winning seems a distant motivation for this mob.

They’ll probably play a blinder now. 0-5. 🤪.

I think the opposite timbo looks attacking to me. Should see pogba and Jessie pushed on and sanchez stay high where he is best. Neither rash nor martial deserved to be kept in the team they were both shocking at the weekend.

Was no need to play a third cb against West Ham away. Playing without a striker was very evident today with Sanchez dropping deep. I thought Sanchez looked decent when making runs beyond the last man. Clear now that martial is on his way. Didn’t even get off the bench. I thought the one shining light was shaw. Look a threat and defensively pretty sound. Smalling on the other hand was ripped a new one three times by arnautovic. Bring on the weekend and hopefully see some of the youngsters because I’m dying to see a little bit of passion and intensity.

{Ed004's Note - Such a depressing game. Luke Shaw is a very infuriating player and I fully understand why he's in Jose bad books. He is very good on the ball in tight spaces, links play very well, very quick and a very good tackler. However, not in shape at all, lacks a final ball and there is no urgency in his play but I think that's down to lack of fitness. There were so many occasions were he could have bombed down the line but just didn't}

Is a lack of fitness due to lack of play time, or is a lack of play time due to a lack of fitness? I just don't know.

{Ed004's Note - I don't care if he hasn't played in 6 months he is a professional athlete on probably close to 100 grand a week. He should be in peak physical condition and he blatantly isn't}

Agree ed. His final ball is poor and he seems to hit in hope. But I do believe he will improve with games. There is clear raw talent and ability there but Jose doesn’t fancy him. There was one point where shaw had a shot from distance and Jose berated him. Seems the players look either stifled or devoid of ideas as soon as the cross the half way line. It’s really depressing ed! I really hope the right investments in the summer will improve things because I’m not sure I can take another season of depressing football. Especially as I am thinking about buying a season ticket for next year after cancelling it since Fergie retired.

{Ed004's Note - The football was good at the start of the season so I would not let the past few weeks put you off getting a season ticket when we have had nothing to play for. I'm hoping Shaw gets himself fit over preseason like he did for LvG final season however I'm not getting my hopes up. Decent full backs and a competent cb to partner Bailly will improve us massively defensively and offensively}

Yeh think you are right ed. The style really needs to improve but I’m sure Jose and the board know this and they will invest accordingly. A new defence will give us a much stronger platform to work off. The manager needs to find a way of getting the attacking play more cohesive and energetic. It’s worrying how poor we look without Lukaku. I feel martial or rashford should have been given a run up front tonight but it’s clear that martial is off now.

{Ed004's Note - Agreed 100% I think Martial is off this summer and if that's the case we need a top right sided player such as Griezmann, Fekir, Dembele, Pulisic etc}

Not trying to be an arse Ed, I'm just concerned that if we buy another young prospect with potential, we'll be questioning his attitude / commitment this time next year.

Seems to be the trend these days.
