Whether Fabinho is good or not, fuming that Liverpool got it done so quickly. With Keita done and maybe Fekir next, they'll have a good midfield. Ed, meanwhile, is on holiday and we'll probably rotate Matic and Mctominay in our midfield next season.

Sad to see Liverpool showing more ambition. Don't tell me about Fred, Savic etc. for all we know neither could be on his way!

Think we decided to pull away interest and not that Scousers beat us to him. Situation is we held back interest as we are refocusing on others vis-a-vis funds management.
It will always be the case of media trying to manipulate for attention and the fact that we are a very hated club for being so successful. Think carefully and I am sure you will get the real story. 😉.

Don't think it's so much about Them beating us to him, it's just that I felt he could have addressed 2 of our problem positions i.e DM and RB; also for the fact that we have been largely quiet in the last few transfer windows except the one where we got Matic and Lukaku - that was good business.

I know many will say we have spent big, but a large portion of funds every window have been splashed on one or two major names - take Pogba for instance, Lukaku, Di Maria, etc.

Previously we failed to fill in the holes. By the time SAF retired we started with Anderson and Cleverly in Midfield; Moyes messed up completely with the defence, how did he let go of Vidic, Evra, Rio (retired) all in one instance.

LVG messed with the attack, he sold ALL of RVP, Welbeck, Chicharito in one window and replaced only with Martial. Somewhere between the 2 managers we let go of Anderson, Cleverly, Gibson, Fletcher, O'Shea etc. LVG's signings never worked for us, only Blind and Rojo still survive.

Our team got seriously messed with under those 2 managers, I personally think we need to 100% back Jose in the transfer window and he'll get us the right signings. Ed needs to sit up and start working.

It’s embarrassing! The reaction of some Utd fans to the signing of Fabinho is embarrassing our club. Utd chose Matic last window and yet some are behaving like our world is over, we have not paraded a player before that lot to show our ambition, therefore we have no ambition.

Liverpool lost a final, it is no surprise they have bought someone quickly to pick the fans off the floor.

Wait and see what our club does rather than wailing and telling them how well they have done. We must do our business and I expect it to be a higher level of player but I won’t be telling Scouse fans oh no you got a player we so wanted. Grow up people.

Read my post again mate, I have gotten over Fabinho that is not an issue. I have also spoken about Matic and Lukaku as good signings.

I am talking about our shortfalls, which clearly exist.

Exactly what I’m saying RM.
there is no reason to panic or be negative. We have certain requirements and ONLY certain key roles are needed. We have our own targets and I am sure Jose is not that dumb in who he wants. He is usually clear and early.
My thoughts are it could be sometime a poker game to throw off the scent to who we want to buy because once the media got wind of it, we have to pay extremely out of market prices!
So agree that we should just wait and not get angry or negative just because another club got a player. They have their own targets and we have ours. It’s all about getting the right player for our setup. Even if we get the “right” player we can never know until he starts playing. There’s always a certain risk and that’s what makes this poker game of football interesting and great.
Stay chill KRD and watch the fun.

Its only one player dude. Its not like the end of the world. We were told many times by ed that he wasnt our first choixe more like a back up.

Kenny. Fabinho is an excellent midfielder. But he's a defensive midfielder and we have Matic for now.
Our priorities are central midfield, full backs, winger, attacker and centre back if mourinho will not give Tunazebe a chance.
I take your point about us under achieving in the market. I've daid it and Redman has too in the past. But we need to strengthen the weak areas and unlike more optimistic posters, i think we're a million miles away from challenging city and our priorities lie in strenghtening these weak areas.

Fabinho states there has only ever been 2 sides interested in him which are Liverpool and Atletico. Liverpool offered Monaco more money they got him.

People need to stop having meltdowns, we are only a week or so into the transfer window and people are losing there shish already!

Good post AAA and Redman, we have some key areas to address and need to move on some unhappy, underappreciated players.

Spot on Redman. Kenyan you need to chill mate the window has only been open for just over a week. We are working on our targets behind the scenes and will announce when they are done. I think Fabinho would have been a very good signing but it wasn’t to be. The reaction from fans when they don’t get a player is embarrassing sometimes.

Liverpool have known Can, a very good footballer in my opinion who they will miss, was going to leave for a long time and have probably been looking at adding depth to the midfield for a while. Obvious really with Keita coming in as well as Fabinho. It looks like a pretty well thought out plan.
Fabinho's a good player but United are obviously looking at other options.

Redman - Agree it's with the sentiment of encouraging people not to over react but pretty sure LFC didn't buy him to pick up the fans after the final. Not really how football clubs work, and I don't think even signing messi would of got the image of karius out of our heads.

Jordz

I was alluding to the timing of your deal rather than the deal as a whole.
