Lunchtime ramble, Question for all, what formation do you think Jose will go with next season?

Vast majority of last season we played 4-2-3-1 with a few dabbles with 4-3-3 particularly towards the end of the season.

Fred suits both systems as he could play as a 3 with matic and pogba or as a 2 with matic and pogba gets pushed into the middle of the attacking 3.

If rumours are to be believed and we are interested in either veratti or sms aswell as Fred that could maybe imply we are heading for 4-4-2 with a midfield diamond of matic, Fred, sms/ veratti and pogba. That would mean attacking fullbacks would be even more crucial to provide width though.

Lukaku with one of sanchez, martial or rashford up top.

Would love to get back to 2 up top personally.

Jose has played something like 70% of all his games 4231 . I don't think he will change much.

{Ed004's Note - At the end of the season he was playing 433 quite frequently and there were a few games were Sanchez appeared to play off Lukaku with Pogba drifting to the left almost like a 4411 style formation}

Jose sets up not to lose, and if we don't sort out that defence it will be 2 holding midfielders.

My only hope is that when we play 4-2-3-1, that Jose will play Pogba as the central attacking midfielder, and play two behind him, from Matic, Fred or Herrera. Keep Pogba further up the pitch. As for your question, I still think we will see either 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 most of the time.

I think we can forget about Bale now Zidane has left, I cannot see a new manager wanting to sell the MOTM from the champions league in his first window lol.
