A lot of talk that mason greenwood will be going on the tour, this would be huge. Having watched him a lot in the 18s he looks one hell of a talent. He's tall, strong, good in the air and a genuine two footed player something we haven't had since Nani. I hope it's true he's going and he gets a chance, even if it's a cameo or two here and there. It would be amazing for his development. One thing is for sure he looks the real deal.

I honestly do not see how England are exceeding expectations. Under normal circumstances you would expect them to beat Sweden and Tunisia, and to easily brush aside Panama. You also expect them to challenge Colombia, especially one devoid of James Rodriguez. They are matching expectations, they've just had an easy run through. I do not for a moment believe they would have beaten Argentina, Uruguay or Brazil. They would have taken the game to Denmark, but it would have been tight. Under normal circumstances you'd expect them to beat Japan and Russia, but those games would have come down to desire and who wanted it most.

I'm not saying they could not have slipped up along the way, and the fact they haven't means they are focused on the task, but they have not in any way exceeded expectations, just had a lucky draw. I do not doubt for a second that the 98, 02 and 04 (people seem to forget that one, the team who took the game to France to the point Zidane threw up before taking a penalty then brushed aside Croatia and Switzerland before heading out on Penalties against a strong Portuguese side, the finalists) would all be in the same position as the current team. I also doubt the current team would have performed as well as the above mentioned in those tournaments. So calling them the best England side in 22 years is a stretch for me.
