Anyone else been impressed with pereira? I know it’s pre season and we haven’t set the world alight, nor has the quality been particularly great. But he has looked very comfortable and has stood out in the no 6 role. The biggest bonus is that is that he is always has his head up and is looking for that forward pass. His close control is good and he has a bit of bit and nasty streak to him which we lack. He is building a nice understanding with Sanchez with the latter looking much sharper. We have missed somebody to dictate and control the tempo of play since Carrick hardly played last season. Always been a big fan of his and thought going on loan was a mistake. Hope to see him start against Leicester and really try to cement a place in the starting side.

Many including myself have perhaps written off the impact Sanchez could have next season. He will be like a new signing. I like the idea of 3 at the back and perhaps him up top with Lukaku. But the right is where I think we should be playing him, unlikely it will happen. I know this pre season we have been a bit poor but with a few signings and integration of some very talented youngsters, I think we will have a very interesting side.

My thoughts on Andreas.
He played a similar role last season and did okay.
Some of his passing range was top quality today, with him switching play very quickly. Reminds me a bit of like Pjanic.
He is quick, shields the ball, can dribble, very importanly confident on the ball and tries to be physical and runs back to win the balls.
He has generally performed well whenever we have given him gametime.
Last season had he not been so impatient he probably would have played a few games.
His loan spells have been okay.
The positive part about him is that he is very good at set pieces and corners. which we are terrible at.
And the fact he is comfortable playing anywhere across the midfield is a bonus.
I would put him ahead of Herrera.
Out of all three I think Rashford is the most suited to play RW than Martial or Sanchez.
I like the fact that Pereira brings a speed of thought to our play.
Something we clearly lack as we often have players that really build up quite slowly.

Alway's liked Pereira, I asked Ed002 earlier this year if he was likely to stay and I think Ed002 said he would probably be made available for transfer, hope he manages to change Mourinho's mind!

{Ed002's Note - If he stays one of the other Home Grown players over 21 must then leave.

That’s a Great shout on the comparison with pjanic, Rohan. Think he deserves a chance to stay and stake a claim. Offers more going forward than all of our midfielders barring pogba, not including Fred as we are yet to see him in action. Agreed that pereira has quality from dead ball situations that we sorely miss. Could bring the best out of pogba. Only time will tell.

Ed02 - Sorry but why has one of the HG players got to leave? I thought you could have as many HG players as you wished but only 17 NON HG players in a squad of 25.

{Ed002's Note - Not HG, just another player over 21.}
