Banter please Ed's,

So I'm going to say it how I see it. United, a club with no direction, no plan, bumbling from one manager to the next, throwing money away at average players, just a shambles really right now.

The pre season has been poor, no shape or structure to our play, no idea what formation or team we'll start wth this season. Transfer activity has been shocking considering we need to make 20 points up on city. Likely to lose out most talented player in Pogba, maybe martial too. Going into another season with two failed wingers at full back, offering nothing going forward, bang average CB's, and no creativity up top. I'm
Sure we'll sit deep again, be hard to beat and concede few goals, as a result were toothless in attack and will probably struggle to score more than 1 a game again.

We're miles off being good enough to challenge for the league or in Europe. I think we're in a battle for top 4 to be honest. We have a manager who doesn't want to be here, and who has already told us we're in for another tough year. The likes or Liverpool have addressed 3/ 4 key areas and for top players in. We have no structure or plan. We're a has been superpower who quite frankly are dross to watch.

It wouldn't surprise me to see up panic buy on the last day and make a stupid World record signing in someone like Maguire, who quite frankly is nothing better than what we have. Embarrassing what's going on in this club of ours.

Here's my honest predictions for the season ahead

1) Liverpool (just)
2) City
3) Chelsea
4) Arsenal
5) United
6) Spurs

That's how I see it. I'm sure the likes of GDS etc will say I'm over exaggerating and that's fine, this is just my opinion and I don't think I'll be far off it come May 2019. Add to that I don't see Jose lasting the season either.

Great post Stand - sums up exactly how I feel. A lot of things needed to be done this summer, it just appears that the club has sat on it's hands. I don't care who is to blame as it can be twisted any which way, but we the fans will have to endure another season, rather than enjoy it I fear.

We'll all support the team when we play, but I'm getting sick of the excuses and the acceptance of the terrible football and feel of the place. Mention Utd to any neutral and they almost all say "what's going on with your club, you need rid of that manager? ". I think that major change needs to happen before anything else positive occurs.

that top 6 prediction! LOL.

Arsenal isn't going to make top 4 this year and chelsea will come fourth this year.

I think Chelsea are lacking a top striker and they will struggle to score goals this year.

Good honest opinion Stand. Well said. Nothing wrong with that.
I think we all feel your frustration to some degree.
It is disappointing that we’re heading into a new season with so many questions.

{Ed004's Note - I have the top 6 shaping differently. Currently it would be City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal in that order. However, if Alderwerield signs and Jose moves one of Sanchez, Rashford or Martial to the right I think we would have enough for 3rd}

Good post Stand, I agree with all that apart from your prediction. I think Ed004's is more likely.

Great Post stand, like beast I agree with nearly everything you have said and feel the same.
Have to say apart from the top 6 prediction, as long as Jose stays the full season I see us finishing no lower than 3rd and if we get the 2 signings I hope for.

I think we all tend to over think things. A transfer is like any sale. It needs a willing seller and willing buyer. But it is further complicated because the player also must want to move. Then the two clubs involved may have to either buy a replacement or move another player out. Couple all this with high demand for the very best players and you can understand why transfers can seem to to take ages. I am positive Jose long ago identified his targets but that is only a wish list. Utd have no divine right to get any player. Even Madrid fail with their targets eg David De Gea. We need to be patient and then whoever comes in to back the team.

Nice to see the toxics all out in force ťhis morning. Must be the change in the weather.

Agree with op.

The most painful thing here is how we all so readily agree that pool are going to finish above us.

I can handle them finishing above us, what I can't handle is the limp toothless performances that allow it to happen.

Not sure whether the most worrying thing is the OP or all of the people agreeing, gave me a good laugh reading it though. At least expectations are low so really we can only do better.

City
Liverpool
United
Chelsea
Spurs
Arsenal

That’s what I have.

Allan

Too many of our fans are accepting mediocrity these days. 5 years since Fergie left we’ve been abysmal. We paytje hugest wages, spend the most money on transfers, but with no structure or plan we’re pissing in the wind. I think it’s sad so many dabs are content to watch boring defensive football, more like watching a game of chess. Klopp works on a much smaller budget and wage structure and they’re going places. He gets the best from average players, and buys what he needs for his weaknesses in the team.

Which part is funny, or even unlikely? Your deluded if you think we’re a force in this league any more mate.

Klopp lost his best player in January for a massive fee. People seem to forget that the monies received for that are a huge part of their current spending.

{Ed002's Note - How much do you think Liverpool have been paid for Coutinho so far?}

Stand, i agree with the original post to the letter. If we look at it realistically, our defence isn't great, though we have a world class gk. Our midfield is good providing the main three don't get injured, but City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs have better midfields. In attack, we have Lukaku and Sanchez and we're badly lacking balance on the right flank. Also, our fullbacks are shocking. So, i think if we go with what we have, then i see us in 4th or 5th spot. But if we bring in 2 or 3, then we will do better.

Stand,

All of it mate, just fun seeing the meltdowns on here when we don't sign the exact players people want, suddenly the team that came 2nd last year is dreadful and will struggle to finish top 4, maybe even get relegated eh?

Calling people deluded because they disagree with your OPINION is very much a twitter thing to do, seen a couple of people call others deluded today, it is possible for other people to have a different opinion to you, especially before the season even starts lol, maybe respect others opinions and people won't laugh at your posts?
