Many positives, despite our struggles to dominate the game:

1. The back four all played well. Lindelof and Bailly were a solid partnership, positionally very good. Darmian was steady, and Shaw did very well to get his first goal. Great to see his joy in scoring.

2. Fred looks very dynamic. He has anticipation and fight defensively, and can hold the ball under pressure. I ams sure there will be plenty more that he will show in coming weeks.

3. Good to see Pogba with the armband and the penalty as the match began. It was the right message after such a negative summer. And he played well, some key defensive headers, besides being a presence in midfield.

4. Besides Mata, who played very well, the attackers were all ineffective. Sanchez was just plain awful. Lukaku missed a sitter. And Rashford seems to struggle as a #9 in a counterattacking setup, where he is required to win headers, hold the ball up, and play back to goal so much. Sanchez failed to play him in behind a number of times.

5. Mourinho deserves credit for a good lineup and intelligent subs. Fred taken off with a yellow, Pogba off with some fatigue, and some minutes given to Lukaku. And he showed some passion after Shaw's goal.

We have a very good squad.

Love to see us just get on with it now. Get rolling in these early games and let the team spirit and partnerships grow.

Everyone was a bit off the pace after a tricky pre-season / world cup hangover. But everyone played there part. That Leicester team are no mugs.

Pretty good summary zidanial. I thought Gred worked hard but didn’t really get into the game. As you said up front we were not great but it’s early days, lots of rustiness, and players who haven’t really had a pre season. For the first few games, I’ll take any win.

Darmian was awful for the first 20 mins, when Gray had him beat. Not after that. Open your eyes, mate. x.
