Watching the scouse you see the difference between a team going to kill a game and entertain.
And United who seem happy to protect a 1 goal lead .
2 ways to skin a cat and all that but I know which team are a better watch.

1.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 15:33:44
Whether they are or not better team to watch its still boring to watch for me.

Can't stand Liverpool and when there winning it becomes boring very fast.

12 Aug 2018 15:41:22
Its all about taste. So. e people liked to watch Barcelona. Personally I found them boring to watch.

4.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 15:47:12
They'll come for you jred. Hahahaha

TBH, we shouldn't knee-jerk, Liverpool will play sexy football but I believe they'll falter.

This is the problem I have with us, we don't have a football identity.

Everyone knew how Liverpool would play regardless of their back 4 (only van dijk there worthy) and a midfield of Milner with wijnaldum.

I believe if Mourinho can birth any positive style of football, most fans will be happy even if we don't win because it's a good sign in the right direction. And for a club with the stature of Manchester United, it'll be just a matter of time before we begin dominating.

Nonetheless, we still have improved from Moyes and LVG era; I'll give that to Mourinho but he needs to get me purring with our style 😅.

5.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 15:48:50
I don't watch Liverpool at all. Couldn't be bothered to be honest. More interested in watching our games regardless of how we play.

United are a better watch than Liverpool for me all day long.

Angel
Hard to get a perspective if you don't watch over teams .
Scouse continued to have a go at West ham even after 2 or 3 up . We just sat back against Leicester.
Would love to see us really have a go for 90 minutes, we look a decent until we sit back
Yaz
I think we maybe have got an identity I think it's don't take chances don't get beat . I would love to see our team given a bit more freedom.

7.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 16:57:03
I agree jred, I look at our players and we have far better forwards and midfielders than we do defenders. So it only makes sense to spend more time going forward and playing to our strengths than sitting back and inviting teams on to our weaknesses.

I think we could see some excellent football from our team if they were let off the leash.

The most painful thing about how we are playing atm is that in all fairness and being completely non-bias you have to say Liverpool and City are playing the best most exciting football in the league if not in all of Europe at the moment.

Which is a bitter pill to swallow for a United supporter.

Serious question though to all on here. If it came down to it, would you prefer Liverpool or City to win the league? As there is a good chance it might come down to one of those two.

8.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 16:58:41
Anybody saying that Liverpool were boring to watch, I dread to think what you would consider our performances like!

Anybody that doesn't watch our main rivals is taking away any perspective from their comments.

City and Liverpool look scary to me. When you think who is missing from City as well it just doesn't bear thinking about.

We have so much work to be done it's depressing, watching us on Friday compared to Liverpool today makes me more concerned about our prospects. Early days in the season but they look much better prepared and Scousers are enjoying their team more than the average Utd fan are enjoying watching us, guaranteed.

9.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 17:00:36
I hate Liverpool doing well but they were impressive, fast one touch football, their first goal they had 5 players in the box all trying to get on the end of it, bury your heads in the sand if you like but they are great to watch. Chelsea were impressive, City look slick, our competitors have started well.

However, it’s just one game, I remember us losing 3-0 to Villa first game and doing the double. Not saying that will happen but everyone is settling in so I think it will take a month or two until things settle down.

10.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 17:31:26
How do you know if don't watch any other games jred? Rather presumptuous of you.

11.) 12 Aug 2018

Angel because you said you don't watch any Liverpool games.

12.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 18:12:31
I don't watch Liverpool games doesn't equal not watching any other games 😂.

{Ed025's Note - they were excellent to be fair angel..

12 Aug 2018 18:21:02
Angel and FZZ

Couldnt have put it better myself. don't watch the scouse, don't care how they play (until we play eachother) . Boring team with a crtoon manager.

{Ed025's Note - they are far from boring mate, and from someone who watches united at the moment thats pretty rich i must say..

14.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 18:26:02
Liverpool are a super team. Confidence is high lots of players playing at the top off their game. They are on a roll at the moment. City were both great at times and very sloppy at other times.
Chelsea were impressive.
Spurs were like ourselves worth the win.
We need to stay with the pace early on and see where that takes us.

{Ed025's Note - good summary that ken..

15.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 18:27:58
Lol ed, apologies. Was slight tongue in cheek because i'm a little tired of how hearing how well scouse and citeh are/ have been playing if this was a mixture of different fans commenting then brill but its just utd fans. i'm sure there are some closet city/ licerpool fans on here.

Speaking of closet scouse fans, where is MAZE 😁.

{Ed025's Note - dont apologize EZRS, being biased is part and parcel of being a fan mate, i should know im one of the worst for it.. :)

16.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 18:35:46
Don't doubt it ed025. Still don't watch them though :) but we know that there are many on this page that have Liverpool love ins.

{Ed025's Note - they could just be football fans angel and not wear blinkers when it comes to liverpool mate...shame on them.. :)

17.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 19:13:22
Lol you've got it! :) but the original point for me was, I enjoy watching united more than Liverpool, I can appreciate their style but I just don't enjoy them in that regard. I prefer watching ourselves play more.

18.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 19:15:26
A quick question for the Ed if you have the time to spare-old woodward has informed jose that there will be a director of football being appointed and that jose must utilize the youth team a lot more instead of 'buying off the peg'-so to speak, but jose is still expected to gain top four and have a good run in the champions league, bearing in mind no other manager in the other clubs (blue knuckle draggers, chavski, Liverpool are having to do this all at once at the same time does it not smack off setting him up for the old tin-tack unless jose pulls the pin himself? would it be to crazy to suggest mr. woodward has a list of candidates already? it just seems that he's turning the screw on jose more and more?

{Ed025's Note - i would be guessing CO82 but i will go as far as to say that something is not right there, it seems to be a battle of wits between jose and deadwood and its not healthy for the club, something has to give mate and my bet would be that jose will be the first one to crack as it seems that woodward has the backing of the owners..

19.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 19:43:23
Boohoo, we've had to put up with your tripe for 20 odd years, so now its our turn. I hope you enjoy it.

20.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 19:59:30
I though all the other teams had a " transfer team "
Just to make a point what's the average age of players bought by city since since pep took over?
Scholes
I'm on the other side of the argument, nothing worse than a biased blinked fan when discussing footy.

21.) 12 Aug 2018

{Ed025's Note - a visitor from the banks of the mersey..

22.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 20:02:28
Class82 footy has changed look at city or Lfc how many older players they've bought? Even a club like Real where the standards are very very high they've started refreshing their squad w/ younger players.

Utd are acting sensibly. After Moyes and LVG fiasco Utd panicked and brought mourinho because of he's a winner and guarantees u big trophies and Utd were/ are desperate for big prizes.

He did okay coming in in he's 1st season and winning couple of cups which prompted Utd board to trust him blindly and investing lots and lots of cash in he's project be wages to older players like zlatan or breaking transfer records for Pogba and even paying huge amounts of money to he's agent for Jose to win league or CL.

Instead he started fighting w/ players (some of he's own signings) having a go at your club fans and even mocking how he has knocked out your greatest manager fergie couple of times instead of accepting he got it wrong against sevilla.

Utd board have lost faith in Jose and are careful now spending again huge amounts of money on especially when he can't guarantee u success anymore neither he's project is a long term so why mess w/ clubs future and make it difficult for another manager when Jose decides to leave middle/ next season w/ lots of older players on high wages?

23.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 20:23:36
Jred

Biased - VERY

blinkered - not so much.

We all get something diffetent from supporting a team, and we all have different opinions.

When it comes to utd i am very biased, maybe that's because iv lived my whole life with stoke fans who absolutely hate utd. So i'm a little defensive and uncomprimising.

For me tho, when we talk about scouse, i have nothing nice to say so i don't say anything at all.

24.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 20:33:23
Scholes
You sort of are saying some thing.

Can't stand the scouse but I do enjoy watching football.

25.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 20:38:05
I think its a huge season for Mourinho. I agree it doesn't look like he is being backed. The moment Woodward starts questioning Maguire and Alderweireld as 'no better than what we have' is where it potentially goes tits up big time. Comments like that may indeed suggestion there is a power struggle that Jose can't win.

That said a lot can change in football in the matter of 4 or 5 games. Jose's style of play will never endear himself to many however his track record success-wise speaks for itself. And we knew that style when appointing him.

But he is walking a tightrope with that style unless we are winning. A win takes away all the Boardroom 'back him or sack him' type rhetoric that the press, whom Jose also seems to have uncomfortable relationship with now, will just launch after any unexpected losses.

Personally - I think Jose is a proven World Class manager and if anyone can improve us its him. I believe he can adopt that siege mentality that Ferguson did so many times. I do think he will need to be at his very best to beat City. Pep has ripped up the rulebook with how they performed last season and they are clearly the team to beat. Liverpool look good style wise though they are still players short to win the league. I see them finishing behind City and United again - most likely in that order.

Fixture list has been kind to United in first 2 months and if we are to get anywhere close to City we have to win all games in that period.

Both Chelsea and City have proven in last 2 seasons that if you are capable of putting a 12/ 13 winning games run together you will be favourites to win this league. One thing that Jose has in his locker too is he has beat all the Top 6 teams.

As ever it will be a long and interesting season. Whoever comes out on top they will have deserved it. You can only ever win a league.

26.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 20:39:12
Yeh i suppose i am

Maybe i should describe myself as ultra defensive over utd and that will come accross blinkered.

Ive lead a very hard 37 years living with the mighty potters and its taken its toll.

27.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 20:44:00

12 Aug 2018 21:17:11
Scholes_18_18, no. Liverpool have been riding high these last 2 years, getting stronger each year with more and more potency. Where as United have been in decline since Mr. Ferguson retired. Aside from the 1 season blip where United won the Europa League, which by the way when Rafa won it for Chelsea, Mourinho went on to say that he'd be "dissapointed to win that trophy". I wonder if he still thinks it's a disappointment?

Hsf

U r a little behind the times.

As soon as utd won the europa jose was questioned more than a couple of times on his comments about rafa winning the europa And jose answered them.

This has been fone to death and we are all wrll aware of joses initial vomments and we are all aware of how he handled the media scrutiny when we won the cup.

33.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 21:51:32
Riding high? In other words you finished behind us last season and we've also won two trophies since Jose's come in, 2 more than Klopp.

12 Aug 2018 21:56:03
Not embarrassed to say I watched their game today, and enjoyed it. Is that a criminal offence now?

35.) 12 Aug 2018

Not at all nou, but do you enjoy it more than watching United? Now that might be :)

37.) 12 Aug 2018
12 Aug 2018 23:16:20
It's a hard thing to admit as a united fan. in fact firstly i was angry at all the liverpool admiration . they play fast attacking football. what was seen at old Trafford up to 10 years ago. that said the scouse haven't won anything . yet. but city look good too. ah this is just depressing. i'm going back to being angry.

38.) 12 Aug 2018

Of course not but you can enjoy watching good football.

39.) 13 Aug 2018

I like how Liverpool and Klopp play their football but i also love watching United. Fergie didn't always play pretty football and some of you guys act like we play like football under Tony Pulis.

40.) 13 Aug 2018
13 Aug 2018 03:08:09
Cheers Ed025 for getting back on that, seems to have prompted some cracking comments, i wonder if the glaziers' feeling the pinch in yankland is the driving force behind this? another discussion for another time, cheers again Ed025-be lucky!

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

41.) 13 Aug 2018
13 Aug 2018 13:09:04
Deluded nou?

Because i take a different view than u on football? Or my opinion differs on wby i do or don't watch a certain game or team.

U make me laugh.

42.) 13 Aug 2018

Pool play some good stuff I admit, but I will hold off kissing their arse until they win something.

43.) 13 Aug 2018
13 Aug 2018 15:09:30
Again jred I 100% agree. But the argument was whether or not I enjoyed watching Liverpool more than united.

You're now insinuating that I a) don't watch any other games and b) don't enjoy good football

I didn't say either.

I enjoy watching united more than Liverpool unlike some of you on here, that's all 😁.

44.) 13 Aug 2018

I enjoy watching Liverpool lose.

45.) 13 Aug 2018
13 Aug 2018 22:37:03
Evenzidaneratesscholes, deluded because you can't see what's in front of your face. If you want to argue black is white just for the sake of it, then go ahead, but if you're saying that the Liverpool game on Sunday wasn't entertaining, then I don't know what watching Utd every week has done to you.
