With Periera playing so well yesterday, would anyone think Matic, Pereira and Fred in midfield with Pogba in the 10 role work for us, playing Lukaku and Sanchez up top. Very strong midfield and very strong up top too.

Too narrow for me.
Would need fullbacks with the license to bomb down the flanks and the ability to find a teammate with a cross.

Pereira looks like this will be his breakthrough season and we all know its been time coming. Matic will always be that defensive anchor but I thinking there are a lot of interchangeable qualities in other midfield options such as: Pogba, Fred, Pereira and Herrera. McTominay may need to be more attack-minded in his passing choices but that will come with time. Whereas Fellaini will always be the battering ram option we thought was leaving! Be interesting to see how Lingard slots into the side when he comes back into the squad properly.

I think we have a little more strength in depth than folk give us credit for.

Defence is where we know we have numbers but lack quality. I am hopeful Bailly and Lindelof can forge a great partnership and clearly if keeping injury free that will be a huge bonus for us. Shaw had a great first game and hope he can cement the LB spot as we all hoped he would do when originally signing.

Leicester game showed our right-side defensively is suspect and a 33yo Valencia coming back won't do anything to address the lack of pace.

Don’t see Pog as a 10. Total waste of his talent. He needs to drive from midfield, and get involved as he can also pick a pass as well as shoot from distance.

Pogba at Juventus was a 10 and switched to left and right side when needed. Unlike the first two seasons back at Utd playing him as a CDM 😆😆.
