Just a quick mention for darmian. Told he could leave, wanted to leave and it didn't happen. Instead he's gotten on with it, accepted the clubs stance. Certain other players should take note. True professional.

I know I’m in the minority but I really like Darmian, I think he’s a pretty good defender but that isn’t enough nowadays.

Not the worst defender but gives nothing in attack which is half the job nowadays.
None of our full backs give much to the attack.
Pogna martial lukaku would all look better players with mauading full backs like ashley cole zanetti or marcelo trippier etc
Very few players can look great every game all on their own most need a supporting cast. Our best footballers have no supporting cast to play to their strengths.
Who is crossing for lukaku from the by line every week? Who is over lapoing for sanchez martial rashford? Creating time and space?
Who has pogba got making runs into space to pass to?
All would look better with a better more complimentary supporting cast imo.

Darmian is limited by our lack of wingers. On both sides we play players who like to drop off and cut inside. This means all our width is provided by the full backs. Darmian isn’t fast enough to get up and down the lines, so he either stays deep or risks getting caught out. Decent player, but not in this setup.

Post wasn't really about his quality, had promise and I do like him and sometimes I'd rather him on than young. But yeah steady player, true professional.
