We could be 10th in the league by the end of today. 10th!

I wouldn't even mind if I enjoyed watching us play. But once again I've been bored and disappointed by Manchester United. Not words I've had to use much for the last 30 years, but all too commonplace these days.

Love how Karl Pilkington summed it up: "I feel like supporting United is like having a tortoise as a pet. I had a tortoise, and they are not entertaining to watch. You don't watch them, but you know you have got a bit of responsibility to show some interest. "

I'm still watching, but it's hard to enjoy in the slightest.

Forget tactics, systems or even style of play. The fundamental problem at Utd is a total lack of intensity, energy and hunger when not in possession of the football.

Against Wolves, Derby and West Ham today we simply sat deep behind the ball and watched the opposition play. When Declan Rice and Mark Noble look like classy impersonations of Xavi and Iniesta you know something is wrong. When Wolves and Derby are allowed to move the ball around akin to Barcelona your finished.

I don't know if it's the attitude of the players the tactics or a combination of the both but if you're lazy and don't work hard both in and out of possession you get exactly what you deserve.

Mourinho's problems at Utd aren't tactical or his attention to detail. He's lost the one attribute that made him special. His ability to motivate his players. The ability to inspire them to run through the pits of hell rather than miss a tackle or lose their man. The ability to be humble, work hard and understand that it's not ability that will make the difference but attitude and mental fortitude. Nothing special can be forged without endeavour and sacrifice.

Until Mourinho is able to select a side that will run through brick walls, contest every challenge, fight for every inch we'll continue to see more of this rubbish. The problem is he's ran out of lieutenants.

If there is one area where I believe he has become outdated and out of touch it's his ability to manage and motivate today's fragile ego's.

I don't like defensive or pragmatic football but I'm no football snob and there is no reason why this style can't be successful. Unfortunately we're neither pragmatic nor defensive merely a pathetic imposter of them both.

Good post DLIB. Footballers nowadays aren’t made the same way as they were 10-15 years ago. They are snowflakes who lack the desire and passion to succeed. They also appear to be more sensitive and this break them down attitude clearly doesn’t work anymore. Football has moved on. And unfortunately Jose has not. He needs characters such as Lampard, terry, Drogba, lucio, motta, zanetti, militto who will die fighting for him. He just does not have that in this squad. You would have thought Lukaku, bailly, matic, pogba would be like that. But they have not stepped up. I don’t doubt Jose may go to PSG and win more trophies. But his time at united is up and it’s best for both parties to part ways quickly. We need to have a quick resolution here. Waiting could be so damaging. Let’s see if the board has the bollocks to do it. I have my doubts.

The reason we sit off teams is down to Mourinho’s tactics .
If that’s what players are told to do by the manager then that’s what they’re going to do.

We look like Chelsea in Jose last season .
You thought it was a matter of time before he turned it round, hazard and Costa couldn't be that bad, Chelsea couldn't be that bad .
