Hi ed001, good morning to you. I see one of your responses to an earlier post saying that the appointment of OGS was a sensible choice.

I'd love to know your opinion on why you feel it is a sensible move because I am struggling to understand the reasoning behind it apart from the club trying to appease the fans by bringing in a club legend.

I'm not so sure that the players in that dressing room will necessarily care.

{Ed001's Note - because no one else would want it on the basis it is being offered that could do a better job. Under the restrictions placed on him, he seems the only viable option.}

So why not leave it to someone like Carrick? Or did they want someone from the outside to come in?

I'm just baffled by it, much like most of the footballing decisions that Ed Woodward has been a part of.

Carrick can't because he's not got the relevant level coaching badges to take the job.

The initial release seems to have been false also, as they now say there IS an agreement for compensation for Molde IF OGS surprises everyone and does the job exceptionally well.

I feel Woodward has the tendency to say too much in the hope of appearing competent.

There was no need to tell the world how big the transfer kitty, there is no need to constantly buy marquee signings instead of the important squad fillers.
And there was no need to anounce anything apart from the (amicable) split from José and that a successor will be appointed after due diligence.
Leaves the door open for a caretaker and leaves the door open to appoint a manager and DOF anytime.

I guess he needs some guiding hand to keep his ego in check 😂.
