I see we MAY look at Yannick Carrasco this window. I do not know anything about him apart from around 25 years old. If he is deemed good enough for us, why is he playing in China?

He is not a top player. He is inconsistent, lazy, and lacks an end product. Athletico did everything to get rid of him. I hope this is the usual media BS.

Eric, Danny's right though. He has talent, yet too often his consistency let's him down. The player he most reminds me of is Nani, although Nani did manage one consistent season where he was excellent.

Atletico were more than happy to sell him, and for good reason. He went to China because no one saw a player worth gambling such a high amount of money on as worth while.

There are better prospects in our academy, and they would likely be just as inconsistent at this stage, but there is at least the hope that they might become consistent with time. Carrasco won't achieve that.

Eric, I loved Nani too. Me and Nani share a birthday. On his day he was unplayable, yet you needed to play him every week for that to happen and you would be lucky to get 5 or 6 games a season where he would just click.

The league has become too competitive to have a player you will have to carry 90% of the time.

We need players who will contribute even when they aren't on form.

Carrasco isn't a player who offers that. He is either a 5 out of 10 or a 9 out of 10 and nothing in between.

There are better options available.
