Hey ed002

I know you say pogba wants to leave, but could it be a tactic for a massive contract?

With him choosing to return to utd surely there must be promises not kept as the reason he wants to leave especially now he is playing regularly.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Pogba wants to leave because he prefers the European lifestyle, and because he wants to be in with a genuine chance of winning the biggest honours.

We are 2-3 years away from truly challenging for the UCL, and that's if we hire the right manager, and we make the right signings. A lot of if and maybes. Pogba turns 26 this year. Will he want to be 29 before he has a genuine chance of winning the UCL? Probably not.

If he wants to go then we probably have to let him leave. We have seen with Mourinho that Pogba can be a disruptive influence of he is unhappy.

The club should facilitate him moving on and try and get the best deal for the club.

Looking at a replacement, for me there are two obvious choices in the EPL, Dr Bruyne and Eriksen. Obviously one will not be attainable, so if Pogba was to leave I would go all out to sign Eriksen.

For the right price he can leave. Why not? Its alright doing it against Brighton but he didn't do it against PSG.

Out of the 3 in midfield he doesn't do a lot at all. On the highlights though he looks a world beater, during the full 90 he shows up once or twice a game.

I agree about eriksen shappy. Wonderful player. And I disagree FZZ that’s rubbish. We’ve seen pogba can be ill disciplined and poor defensively. But that’s not what he’s in the team to do. Whether people like it or not he’s not going to be follow orders the way Herrera does or always perform his defensive duties. That’s what matic and Herrera are there for. But what he will do is he will produce moments of magic that very few players in the world can do. His qualities in the box and creatively are immense. The way he arrived in the box for the header against Chelsea is the Paul pogba I want to see. Yes some people have issues with his overall role but if he’s doing the business assists and goals wise I don’t actually care about the rest. many May disagree but I am more than happy to watch him doing what he does best.

Pogba wants to leave because he never wanted to be here in the 1st place. It was almost forced upon him due to the incredible financial gain.

I believe we are only a couple of players away from being title challengers next season.

I doubt he is thinking about 2-3 years away. He never wanted to be back at the club in the first instance.

Park, the problem with giving Pogba that freedom is it unbalances the side. And against the very best we will come unstuck doing that. As seen against PSG. You can give players that sort of freedom, but you can't give players who play in that position that sort of freedom. If your in midfield you will have to defend, chase back, and do the dirty work from time to time. Free roles like that can only be afforded to players playing further up field where there lack of defensive fight doesn't leave a massive whole in the middle of the team.

That is what will hold Pogba back ultimately from fulfilling his potential.

Shappy. I think the team will adapt to different tactics next season against the top teams.

Ole in his few months has had success with his split striker approach.
His tactics failed only against PSG. Hopefully it would have been an eye opener for Ole and the coaching staff.

Signing a Centre back of the ilk of Koulibaly will ease more pressure. He is capable of playing good passes out from the back. (Remember Bonucci playing inch perfect diagonal balls to Ronaldo in the CL? )
That's the type of players we must target.

Therefore the whole team including Pogba will benefit from the right recruitment.
