So Hazard gone, Chelsea have a transfer ban. Arsenal are being usual cheapskates, Tottenham will most likely lose eriksen. If we can't strengthen and finish top 4 next season there is no hope for this club.

I think this is a great thing for Chelsea (both the ban and losing Hazard) .

Short term they will suffer and we have to capitalise on that, but they will be much stronger for it in two years time as they give game time to a number of promising youngsters.

88 million in todays market is a bargain.

Bargain? Not sure about that. 28 years old and only has a year left on his contact.

Great player, but has been know to go missing in big games. Will be interesting to see how he does at Real Madrid.

Hazard is an amazing player and he doesn't go missing in big games it is just that he had 2 or 3 players amrking him in big games because there is only one superstar in that chelsea team.

In Madrid there will be a few players on his level sooner or later and he would have a lot more space to create damage.

I am glad he got his move as he should be playing in a team challenging on all fronts.

Singh, Messi has 2 or 3 marking him every game. As does Ronaldo. Just as Zidane, Figo, Del Peiro, Totti etc etc.

The great players always get doubled up on, the best players over come that and have great performances anyway.

And Eden has some exactly that, Shappy. He's a true world class player and has carried us for years. Was easily the best player in the PL the last couple of years in my opinion.

Easier to get goals and assists when you're playing with the likes of Aguero, Kane, Sane, Sterling etc. than with an aging Pedro, average Willian and misfiring strikers (and we do seem to attract those lol) .

I'm happy for him that he can live his dream though. And that 88m will probably rise to somewhere around 120 to 130 million so that's an excellent deal for a player with only 1 year on his contract and just the single club he wanted to join. There was no hope of a bidding war of any sort here, as it was either Chelsea or Madrid for him.

We may not be the biggest spenders anymore, but I have to say that Marina is excellent at getting value for her players when selling.

Road to top 4 is open for you guys now. You've got the quality so no doubt you'll get there.
