Adrien Rabiot. On the European pages, Ed 002 has said that United have a plan for him while Juventus have made an offer, but others have stepped back.

What are people's thoughts on him? He's an upgrade on Herrera imo, but costlier. Still only 24 as well, so potentially a good option for 5+ years with his peak years still to come.

I would take him, he'd instantly be a starter for us. But that's not saying much because our midfield is pretty weak right now.

Last thing I heard was Juve had got him, but we'll see.

If Pogba leaves, I would like to see a midfield trio of Bruno Fernandes, Saul Niguez and Ndombele.
Since Ndombele is not a United target, the next preference would be Rabiot or Declan Rice.

Given our experience with players with perceived “attitude” problems and “abrasive” agents, i would find it odd if we committed a huge chunk of wages on him and his parent/ guardian.

Also what is his best position, he has been on record i think saying he is not particularly interested in playing holding midfield, i.e as a potential matic replacement. Then you have to consider if he provides enough going forwards to played in the advanced midfield positions.

One of those that makes sense in theory by doesn't hold up in practice.

DSG, I'm sure I've read on here that Rabiot is no longer using his mother as his agent. PSG treated him badly and now his name is mud.

I think he's more suited to a 6 than a 4. Box to box midfielder who gets about the pitch.

I would be tempted to take a gamble on him. There aren't many players of his quality available for even twice the cost he would cost us.

Yes there are questions over his attitude, yet there weren't any until he fell out with PSG. So I wonder if that was just a specific incident.

Considering how many players we need to sign this summer, I think he is a gamble worth taking.
