I don't think that Lingard should be 'warned' over his behaviour. If he were in many other professions, such as teaching, he would most certainly lose his job. I feel that this is an opportunity for Solsjaer to assert himself at the beginning of his United career and to instil discipline in an indisciplined squad.

Yes but he is not a teacher and the standards are rightfully different in terms of behaviour.

People are overreacting so much and the entitlement of some fans is getting embarrassing.

He does nothing on the field at least let him enjoy off the field.
His days are numbered at united, soon OLE will realize that even he is a virus and will be kicked out.

Obviously there’s a bit of overreacting, and old men yelling at clouds.

But Lingard is a fully grown adult who still behaves like a teenager. This has been enabled by people at, and associated, with the club. How many times have we seen Lingard be described as a young player, or put in the same bracket as the likes of Rashford and Martial?

He is embarrassingly immature off the pitch, and woefully inconsistent on it. If he wasn’t an academy player, there’s no way he’d still be at the club, or playing for any top side. Absolute waste of a squad number.

The lad is obviously a bit immature, that's come across time and again probably not the cleverest lad about .
But I'm not sure it's a hanging offence,

Being a bit old school i tend to agree with you jred but in today's society his behaviour is not showing him and by association the lub in a good night. He needs to be warned about future conduct. Its plain dumb. I expect better. The moral compass had moved on from the days where you and i would deem that as horse play.
I often find myself saying pc has gone too far however i have to adapt when you have millions of followers you need to adapt quicker and show some decorum.

It is stupid attitudes like Lingard's and anyone supporting him on this site that makes some of these overpaid and childish footballers so hateful in my opinion. Lingard is no longer a kid, he's 26. And as Danny posted above, he's achieved nothing and has a bad influence on the younger players, Rashford included.
To try a defend his actions in any way, is ridiculous. He's a United player, 26 years old and is giving the club a bad image. I hope OGS has the balls to drop or sell him. He's a waste of space anyway, and unfortunately, he thinks he's up there with Messi and Ronaldo.
Let another club have him and put up with his stupid antics.

Attack
So what is that he has done that's so bad .
I could tell you horror stories of what some players get up and have done .

21 Jun 2019 16:18:17
Agree with Jred, he seems incredibly thick. Not sure he would do it if he was wise enough to understand the fall outs of it. Calling him a virus though, I am not quite sure. A little OTT. There is some absolute nasty stuff you could associate with some ex pros, yet this one is irritating at best.

All players do some type of bad behaviour, their in the best of hotels, fed every meal, probably don't even know how to pay a bill.
They get bored and start acting the magot, we all did it at some stage, but they are that brain dead that they make videos of it,
Now here we are talking about those boys and the thread below about 2 of the greatest midfielders that ever played in the league and not a word about it,
Social media has the world ruined.

Is he really hateful? Just seems very immature to me .
Does he really think he is up there with Ronaldo and messi .

Gives a 100% everytime he puts a shirt on, but I suppose he did put a childish, cringeworthy video on social media, of his hotel room .

He wasnt knocking women about, involved with kids, drugs gambling any crime . Cheating on his wife, with any ones else's husband or wife .
Organising dubious partys, associating with dubious " business assosiates" .
No he put a video on social media of his hotel room, making him look what he is, a bit immature and not the brightest spark. The club will deal with, they have dealt with far worse .

People seem to be missing the point with the what has he done. He hasn’t committed a criminal offence but what about discipline and standards. These were very high on the agenda under SAF.

What is the point of making players wear a club blazer if you are going to allow players to behave as they want and ignore what the club stands for? There is a level of respect that should be upheld for whoever is manager and club and it is like some players feel they can ignore this. It isn’t acceptable on that basis. People should respect the club and manager, the fact it looks like they don’t should ring loud alarm bells.

12.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 16:44:08
SAF said he would be a late bloomer but he’s going to be in his 40’s before he matures at this rate.

Redman
I'm sure he will get his knuckles wrapped .

21 Jun 2019 16:53:48
To be honest we don't know if there has been or will be any disciplinary action for his video. Even if there is we would hardly find out and shouldn't do in any case. Any hr professional or club would keep anything like that confidential.

15.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 17:19:21
Schmid, it’s a bit harsh to say he has achieved nothing. He’s played in a World Cup semi final and scored some important goals for us. He’s clearly immature but that doesn’t mean he’s useless.

16.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 18:15:26
I presume by the complete over reaction to this non story that most posters have the morals of angles and have never done anything silly or immature in their youth.

We talk about discipline but didn't SAF have to rescue Roy Keane from Police Custody after allegedly assaulting a female following a drunken night out and didn't our very own beloved Mr Cantona assault a spectator live on TV in front of millions. Rio conveniently forgot about a drugs test and i'm sure there are many other stories of impropriety that I could share about Utd players misbehaving in the Fergi era.

I suppose what we're saying is if your good on the pitch you can be forgiven for almost anything but if your not you get hung, drawn and quartered for some immature joviality. Perhaps that what's wrong with football and society in general.

Lingard is immature, his video illustrates the lad culture synonymous with footballers and English youth culture in general. Yes the boy needs educating and reminding of his responsibilities and this culture needs tackling and eradicating if possible but would we all be up in arms if the Lingard had just banged in 30 goals last season and scored the winner in a Champions League final. No doubt the moral custodians will jump all over me and insist it wouldn't make a difference but if most people are honest whilst they might still find his video distasteful I highly doubt they would be so vociferous or asking for him to be sent to Alcatraz; He'd be too important for that and perhaps that's as scary as the video.

17.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 18:21:25
Lingard is a child and lacks the minerals to be a part of Manchester United. Really cannot stand the lad, or Pogba for that matter. Rashford tests my patience too.

18.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 19:12:31
Jred, surely a man of 26, A MAN, not A BOY, playing (i use that word loosely, as he can't play) for a huge club, knows the implications of his behaviour. He knows he's in the public eye. This is not the first time, we had him with that stupid video with Rashford, then he's launching some fashion label just before our biggest game of the season, and now he's on a video doing some quite disgusting imitations. I think it's enough.

19.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 20:33:56
Hold on all he's done is make a video of a posh hotel room?

"Fire up the electric chair"

What does he do in this video that's got everyone riled?

20.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 21:14:23
Nothing mort, he’s not really done anything that doesn’t normally go on on a lads holiday. It’s cringey and really embarrassing but that’s it. No harm done.
The saddest part of all this is we live in a time where the British media want to hang our players for having a tattoo or smoke a cigarette and these idiots haven’t got the know how or sense to keep their life’s low key and this fool Lingard has even filmed and posted it himself. Just shows how thick and oigheaded he is.

21.) 21 Jun 2019
21 Jun 2019 22:34:23
Meh there's worse things he could be doing. Its daft but hardly a hanging offence.

He's pogbas bitch this is wots wrong with r dressing room this behaviour is acceptable! It could be the reason rashford has stalled! It seems clothing lines n Instagram has took priority over success results and pride.
