Thank you Ed 002 for the blunt replies. If only such comments will knock some sense into the toxics. I won't call them fans or supporters, toxics seems to be the best word. Fans and supporters will want the best for the club and not to ruin it by foolish claims and demands. To be honest, I had not considered this aspect of toxics until Ed002 mentioned it some years ago, since then i have been trying to understand and analyze it,
Although sometimes we have a scenario of a child (fans) throwing tantrums because he wants to eat chocolates only every day for bfast lunch and supper and the parents (Management) not giving in. Most children mature and understand, but when few fail to 'grow up' then the toxicity sets in.
Eds must be tired of our questions regarding glazers, woodward, running of the club, stadium upkeep, players etc. Most of these questions come about as a result of concern and at times worry. When we get replies and they are not favorable, at times we forget to understand that they are not favorable as a fact and not because the Eds want them to be such. This, we have seen has lead to some unsavory interactions here in the past.

Every club has its toxics, Utd have one of the largest fan bases in the world and maybe the most followed club in the EPL, so by that alone, our toxics will be many. As ordinary fans, we can probably play some roles in attempting to defuse the toxicity (not an easy task by any means) . It is rather unfortunate when toxics have so much attention that it actually affects the club.
Some things we should keep in mind;
1. We had such an amazing run with fergie that we might easily forget how tough the league actually is.
2. We will not get all our targets, at least not in one window. Let's be realistic.
3. Not every tom dick and harry linked to us is actually a target. #Dont believe everything you read!
4. We are further away from winning the league than we were when moyes took over. Thus the climb back to the top will represent approx five years of intermittently stagnating and sinking.
5. We should find a better way of channelling our grievances, they shouldn't turn toxic. #Stoptoxicity
6. Take a cue from the pre-92 fans of the club. They stuck with the club through the rough and were wonderfully rewarded. Wonder how many actually thought at that time that we'd over take lpool's league trophy haul.
Glory Glory Man Utd!

Well said mdb, I am one of the pre 92 fans who suffered in Liverpool's shadow. I grew up going to Old Trafford in the mid seventies and early eighties. A good FA cup run was the best we got, but the support stood by the club and dreamt of catching Liverpool. Nobody really could believe the success Sir Alex would bring, but that success ultimately bred a new fanbase of spoilt fans only used to winning. Everybody wants more of that success, but we are not entitled to it. We are still the biggest club, with the most fans and a huge history. Let's all be patient, get behind the team, stop the toxic negativity and hope we are back on top in the near future.

Whilst i agree that people are going overboard in their complaints of us not signing every player in the world, i am sceltical how much influence these supposed “toxic” fans.

Surely any club with strong leadership and a plan would be able to drown them out and proceed with their vision uninhibited by “toxic” fans airing their grievances on online platforms immaturely.

For example in the ground there hasn't been that much dissent from matchgoinf supporters. You had the numptys who flew the banner over david moyes and the occasional booing under lvg. But on the whole those fans have supported whoever has been in charge and shown patience. They most certainly won't be turning on OGS anytime soon in old trafford.

but the fans had a right to boo and complain about what was being served.

regardless the football has been garbage to watch under moyes and lvg it was embarrassing to watch, and we pay a lot of money every week doing so.

i don't agree with the banner but booing when the team doesn't give 100 percent for the badge for 6 straight years now is fine by me.

they take a lot of our hard earnt money and i expect some kind effort for my money.

im not bothered about losing, it happens but the manner of the way you lose is what matters.

{Ed002's Note - Glad you are not bothered about losing.}

You can't compare the club now to the 80s. No way.
The club won more in the last 25 years than any other british club. Not a club in another teams shadow or waiting for a league title for decades. It has players earning half a million pounds a week and they are not pulling their weight. Fergie came and tore the team apart, revamped the whole club and it took 5 years. 5 seasons on from his depature we are nowhere near the level this club should be operating at.
The Juventus and Bayern arguements are silly. They play in a one team league most of the time. We have to catch up with City and Liverpool, who have changed their whole operations and have been rewarded with sucess. Spurs have made great strides and Chelsea will always invest. Arsenal and United were the best teams in the country 15-20 years ago. Now look. Both teams struggling for honors and with American owners who only care about their bank balance. i'm sick of hearing that the owners have spent money. They spent the money the club earned and not their own. City have made amazing contributions to the community and their youth set ups. All paid with their owners money. How much money has Citys owner taken out of the club? The money taken from the club is theirs technically but when your the biggest club in Britain and a team 5 miles away shows you how to build not just a team but a whole new club, that in 10 years overtakes us, questions have to be asked. No-one on this site can say the recruitment has been up to par. So who is in charge of that? The stadium looks old and parts of it look so cheap. This was the only 5 star stadium in the UK until Wembley was rebuilt. i'm not saying let's boycotg games. Never. But its a serious situation. Call me toxic. Call me whatever. Post on here how much you agree with Ed's assesments of us fans. Then ask yourself, are you happy with the clubs performance last few years? If yes, you shouldn't be on this page. Imagine if Real finished where we had in their league!

lets face it we ain't going to challenge anytime soon.

so we have to get use to losing or keep moaning about it.

we are miles of the top 2 let alone the rest.
