Whilst we are busy looking at transfers I noticed that Sheffield United have given Ravel Morrison a chance after a trial. Phenomenally talented but flawed, so this may be his very last chance at top level football. Watching his youth games years ago he was a natural but it shows it needs more than pure talent to succeed. Sheffield is quite near to his old problems in Manchester but i think it would be nice to see the kid get a chance and show at least some of his great skills. Realistically I fear he may blow it again but that raw skill deserves a last chance.

Roy Keane once said hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard. But I agree with you that Ravel has bigger problems than working hard, but he does deserve one last chance.

My personal opinion is I hope the lad does well, he has skirted around many leagues now and seems to have never settled. Be a shame if he ****s it up.

How many last chances do you give someone, tho? There's lads came from similar or worse backgrounds than Ravel, and they've managed to have successful careers. Look at some of the places the young Africans or South Americans have come from, and it makes it hard to feel sorry for the lad. He's had chances, and through poor personal choices has pissed his career away. It's sad.

I’m not sure he deserves one last chance but he is going to get one because of the talent he possesses. If he couldn’t get his head down and work hard when he was one of the best kids at Man united what are his chances at Sheff United? I hope he’s grown up and does well but I wouldn’t be surprised if by September / October they realise him and his ‘crew’ are stinking up the city and loan him as far away as possible.

One of the best academy players ever to come out of united, unfortunately he threw his united career away. i hope he has matured and is serious about his football. he is probably living in manchester still redman as he drove past me in denton a few weeks ago.

i think sheff utd are playing it safe as well as they have only given him a 12month contract.
